Not too much though or else we'll get taxed or the State will make it illegal to collect water then it rains!

I wonder why their announcement is timed for the same week as Ridley Scott's The Martian, probably to build up excitement in the hope they'll be granted more funding

The article I just read said they have not specifically found liquid water yet, but all of the proof is there that liquid water was available very recently. I'm wondering if they can reschedule the rover so that it can be in the right place at the right time to catch the liquid water. I'm guessing not based on all of its other scheduling responsibilities. That would certainly make for a breakthrough image.

Maybe it's just condensation from fog or morning dew, which in abundance, could essentially be water.

This is big news for sure.

Water on mars means the chances of finding life on mars just went way up. If there's a lot of water, it makes sending people there a lot easier as they won't have to bring as much water with them on the trip. It also means they can convert martian water into breathable oxygen, and convert it into oxygen and hydrogen gas to make fuel for the trip home.
