I spent two weeks on a website design with all unique content, optimized PERFECTLY onsite, a nice social following, and on an aged domain. It's not ranking for shit. Out of 30+ pages, only one page is ranked in the SERPS on the first 10 pages - and it's on page two. I mean this site could be used for an example of how to perfectly optimize a site for Panda.
And then I have a five page site, minimal content, more photos than content, more competitive market than the site I first mentioned, and four out of five pages are 1/1 in the SERPS. WTF?!?! I did minimal work on that site and it ranks like they fucking have naked photos of a Google Exec with a lady boy in Thailand. And the other site, I just can't get that fucker to rank well at all.
Totally fucking baffled. And yes, I checked the history of the first domain, and it's clean. The prior owner never even configured a website on it. Left it at a splash page for his registrar.
