You obviously didn't read them, because this is the main reason being offered for their not accepting refugees. Call it a lie, call it lack of human compassion, call it whatever you want. They may not come out and say it explicitly, but it is understood that they are not legally obliged to accept refugees. I don't condone it, I don't oppose it, I don't care either way.
