Did they show up in your panels? If not, don't think you registered them because you probably couldn't. Later you'll get an e-mail saying the registration failed because premium names have already been reserved, and most others were registered a few minutes after the registration opened. Unless they have shown up in your panel, they are not yours certainly yet.
Well until the .me scandal clears up I'm withdrawing every thing. I had txt.me in my panel for a few min, now it's gone. Most domains registered on godaddy seem to be up on the domain.me site now which is run by the country that the .me TLD was made for. Insider scams going on in my opinion...
.me is the govt TLD for the country of Montenegro. It is one of the countries that had no use for their TLD so is marketing it as a "me" (ie, yourself, you) type domain.
In support of its proposal, Afilias, GoDaddy.com and ME-Net have created a new organization called doMEn (the word for domain in Montenegrin) which will act as the administrative body with strategic oversight for the domain. Afilias will provide registry technology similar to what it uses today to support other domains such as .INFO and .ORG. Afilias will also make .ME available to its customer base of leading registrars.
ME-Net is a Montenegrin organization, probably govt controlled or influenced. A quick whois check on domain.me (the site auctioning off all of these domains that were typed in to godaddy and purchased) it is registered by ME-Net in Montenegro..
So I can only assume that this is one big scam for their govt to get a cash flow by working with godaddy (either godaddy knew this, or not) but the Montenegro govt (or ME-Net) is grabbing up most of the .me's registered on godaddy.
I registered around 11 and paid for them. None of the registrations were succesful although at the time I checked them, all were available on both godaddy.com and domain.me. Pretty sneaky.
The same thing happened to me this morning. .Me has turned out to be a scam and cash grab by Godaddy.com .
Spent hundreds on available .me domains this morning as soon as they were available. Ones that were not in the land rush auctions. All were later rejected after registering them and paying $40 a piece.
July 17 registrations for .me "First come first served" ... My ass!
They served themselves to the quality domains their customers found, registered, and paid for. Be sure to check the .me auctions to see when godaddy resells the domain you bought. This is going to be a scandel.
What makes me more upset is the fact that people not using Godaddy got their domains right away!
Minutes after the bell rang I was on phone with my rep regging domains. Of course they showed as available but were really not. The godaddy order cue and the .me were so out of sync it was madness. He was manually checking order cues on certain domains for me and just to give one example, on a two word domain I was interested, the backend order cue was 18 long but it was already gone. Thats a $700 float on 1 domain alone for godaddy. Now imagine your Parsons, and multiply that by how many domains were mis-regged and invest it during the 3 day refund float period. BIG MULAH.
yes there were lots of people that dropped $400+ and got maybe one domain out of it.. that's a lot of money just floating out there that they'll need to refund. i imagine their bank accounts are pretty full right now.
edit: i made a new thread with my domains since this one has turned in to more of a .me discussion.
