    It's nearly 40 years old but one leading research company says the days of the computer mouse are numbered.

    A Gartner analyst predicts the demise of the computer mouse in the next three to five years.

    Taking over will be so called gestural computer mechanisms like touch screens and facial recognition devices.

                  I just don't buy in to the death of the mouse. While I think its pretty cool that they have scanners that can follow your eye movement on a screen, I don't think its something that could replace a mouse. I don't always want my mouse on the screen where I'm looking.

                          I can't imagine a practical solution to replacing a mouse.

                          It would have to be some futuristic virtual computer interface kinda like the one from Minority Report. You put on a glove and waive your hand around the screen. But that's not exactly practical either.

                                  Yea your arms would get tired from being raised all the time and you need all the arm room for doing the hand gestures.
