Great on AK & JMB for still working this script for us.
( I dont use it but have in the past )
JMB stopped development and released all his scripts under the Apache license as open source.
Myself and others have forked TGPX and made their own updates. Mine is one, but there is also an unofficial support forum UNofficial JMBSoft.Com Tech Support
I have no affiliation with JMB or the unofficial support forum. All I have done is taken the code as released and made some improvements.
First, I would like to thank you for the updated version of TgpX, it works fine!
Also I would like to ask you for some tips on the search script.
I have found two issues, I mean, the search results for thumbnails are displayed like a text listing in 1 row wide, but with thumbnails.
I'm looking for some help to list it as 5 rows in horizontal and 5 rows in vertical in a total of 25 thumbs per page that looks like a regular TGP frontpage.
And does anyone know if you can, and if so where, you change the sorting of search results. I would like to sort the results of searches to show newest galleries first.
I appreciate any help on both issues, thanks!
Regards,
Scuzio
ps. Hello everybody, I'm Scuzio a newbie at GFY, and since then I can't post links to other sites at this moment with screenshots to show the search result listing issue, please PM me if anyone can help.

It's been modified to be compatible with PHP 5.5 and should be fine with PHP 5.6
Please let me know if there are any issues. I intend to maintain this part time going forward.
I'm also working on an updated TubeX with HTML5 player and updated code for PHP 5.5 compatibility.
If anyone wants to collaborate on these let me know.

Interesting, but how to update it? I can't remember even how to update the official TGPX...
Backup your templates and then ftp / copy the files into your existing TGPX installation. If the install overwrites your template files then replace them from your backup.

Does that mean the theme/plugin is available for sale?
mine? no plugin is needed, just the right design, and core wp functions, but are you asking me if one of the above is for sale? never thought about it.

Would anyone like a PHP 7.1 compatible update to TGPX?
Is anyone still using TGX?
If I can get 10 people or more to confirm they are still running TGPX then I will work on updating the source. If not you can obtain the current version still on GitHub https://github.com/rjkmelb/TGPX-Updated
Would love to see a php 7.1 version. I personally know oif at least 3 other people that are using it. All use php 5.6.x and most, if not all, are using the version you made available. I do know one person still using the original JMB unencoded version for php 5.3.x

That earlier version on PHP 5.3 is bad, tell that person if they need help upgrading I'll assist.
I started rewriting parts of TGPX with 7.1 in mind (no breaking changes, just refreshing code) but put it aside over Christmas. I expect I can have a 7.1 version on GitHub ready to go by early March if not beforehand.
The version currently on GitHub has no security issues that I am aware of but it won't run on PHP 7 and PHP 5.6 is being used less and less.

I should really check this out. Can't recall what we have implemented now. I just have a kind of stone age server with TGP stuff on it, but I know that is not an awesome solution.

If it's TGPX and you need a hand installing or upgrading to the version I've been maintaining please let me know and I will do my best to help.
I need to know from current users whether there is anything not working in the current version that needs fixing? Are there any features missing that really must be in the new version?
Fatal Error
Error:
mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead
That's fixed in the new version, however that won't stop you running the current version on PHP 5.6 - it's just a warning that mysql extension has gone bye bye.
The new version won't have this problem and there's a script to update the database to ensure there are no breaking changes on upgrade.
I still run an original server version on one site. It causes permission problems on the main index when updating so I need to change permissions manually to run updates. I'd be more than interested in a newer version.

It will be here soon, I've made a bit of progress while I've been stuck inside sheltering from the heat. I'm expecting 2 -3 weeks it should be updated for PHP 7.
In the meantime, are you running your server edition on shared hosting or your own hosting?

Shared hosting .... gave up on that in 1998. It's on a dedicated box.
You shouldn't have a permission issue. Does the owner of your site's docroot match the owner of the account running TGPX?
I only see permission issues when accounts are Chroot'd like on shared hosting.
Hmmm, thanks for that. I think one is owned by root and the other one is a reseller account. Now, I understand what my old sys admin meant when he explained the same thing to me a few years ago, but he used terms like churn and stuff ... gotta try that out. Thanks.
Consider me very much interested in having an upgraded TGPx server edition. I really want to get off of the old php and onto the newer versions. Happy to test for you as well.
