Every year this comes up. Same old story.
It's very simple. Two large airplanes full of fuel sliced through two tall towers. The combination of the impacts, the fact that they sliced the support holding up the upper floors, and the resulting fire caused the supports to fail, causing the floors above to pancake down.

I've watched all of the videos; This morning on Netflix I watched "9/11 Science And Conspiracy". It's the same shit over and over again. Every last one of these items can be quickly dismissed.

My only issue is what I call the "Payne Stewart argument": in '99, pro golfer Payne Stewart's private jet ran into problems, and (I'll leave technical details out), within 10 minutes, F-16's were scrambled to see what was going down and to accompany the jet until it ran out of fuel and crashed.
How do commercial airliners, two years later, pull 180's and head back to major urban areas after being in the air for 45+ minutes and not one single jet is dispatched?Comment

To add to this, both United Flight 175 and American Air Flight 11 intersected directly over Stewart Air National Guard Base at nearly the exact same time. This is AFTER the transponders were turned off and a "hijack" was declared by the NTSB. They both flew over an Air National Guard base where they have planes and probably equipment to shoot down planes. Why didn't they do something then?
The evidence is quite damning and if you watch some of the documentaries, it's pretty damn obvious this wasn't done by some whack job terrorists. Who did it? We will probably never know, but it wasn't who they said it was, that's for damn sure. And I'm about the furthest you can get from a "Conspiracy Theorist". I'm just a critical thinker and don't accept what they try to spoon feed me.
Social cognitive dissonance is right, to a degree I've never, or most people here have ever witnessed. I've seen people damn near get into fist fights defending the government story. Even though anyone with half a brain can see right through it.

I've read everything and researched everything. I must have a dozen books about this. I have a physical copy of the 9/11 Commission report and so many others. There is NOTHING that cannot be explained by simple common sense.
"But why did WTC7 fall? It wasn't even hit". REALLY? Two large towers fell right in front of WTC. Just for a moment let's set aside the fact that this was like two strong earthquakes back to back.... They couldn't in or or out of WTC7 because there was so much debris that it completely blocked the exists on the sides closest to the two towers that fell. Hundreds of millions of tons of debris just fell at the foot of WTC7, pushing it completely off it's foundation. When the towers fell, they pretty much destroyed the entire side of WTC7. From the pictures it looks perfectly normal, but the pictures and video are from the far side because no one was on top of the debris taking pictures of the damage.Herschel Savage

Allow me to ask this question. If you are a US citizen and you really, truly believe that the US government was behind the 9/11 attacks why do you still live in this country? If I found out beyond any doubt that the US government killed over 3,500 of its citizens so they could start a war and pass some laws I would leave. I don't delude myself into thinking I would leave tomorrow, but I would begin the process of moving to a country that doesn't wage war against its own citizens.Comment

If I were to put it to a ratio - personally I'd say I waver 80% towards the government had something to do with 9/11 - and only 20% belief that it was some camel shagging cave dwellers who pulled it off.
And, like Rochard - who tends to have a completely opposite opinion to mine - I've read one helluva lot about 9/11 over the years - critical analysis on both sides of the debate. I'm not a tinfoil hat wearing person who sees conspiracy in everything. For peace of mind, I'd much prefer thinking it was solely perpetrated by foreign terrorists acting independent of any American-based influence. I really wanted that to be the conclusive answer.
But I can't - my logical mind won't allow that. Far too many unignorable indicators point towards people within the U.S. government having advance knowledge of the attacks.Comment

I've given this a lot of thought. I've put in a lot of research. I've read the books. I have a copy of the 9/11 Commission Report, I have read the 9/11 conspiracy books, watched all of the videos, and read of lot of the "debunking" 9/11 myth books.... And where is what I came up with.... There ZERO proof that it didn't happen exactly the way our government explained it us. Anyone who argues otherwise can be dismissed with simple common sense.
I'll use WTC 7 as an example. They'll say "nothing hit it" and "it fell for no reason". Really? Okay, moment of the impact.... A fire ball exploded through the buildings. We ALL saw this, some of us saw it live. Burning debris fell on the other buildings. WTC 7 was on fire. Then, not one, but two very large, very tall buidings.... fell.... At the doorstep of WTC7. Those buildings falling were massive, and registered as earthquakes. (So we have a building on fire that just went through two earthquakes.) Then the debris from the buildings.... Where did that debris go? It fell all around WTC7. The debris was so much and so high that people couldn't exit WTC 7 through any exists near the towers. (So now we have a building on fire that went through two earthquakes that was hit by hundreds of millions of tons of debris.) Then there is the possibility that when the towers fell, it physically moved WTC 7 off it's foundation. (So now we have a building on fire that just went through two earthquakes that was hit by debris that might have physically moved the building off it's foundation that has been on fire for hours.)
Here is a diagram of the damage to the building before it fell.
Keep in mind the photos you see and the video you see is from the far side of the building that wasn't damaged. Meaning, no one was sitting on top of the debris of the two towers taking pictures of WTC 7.
The question isn't "how did WTC 7 fall" but instead "How did WTC 7 remain standing as long as it did.Herschel Savage
