Watching it now, nice way to present the show with the voice over. Linking it to real events is good.
I could never figure out why they didn't just send in the Commandos to assassinate him under cover. It's not like anyone would be surprised if he had turned up dead.Comment

If you watch the show and pay attention, you know why. The place was as corrupt as it gets and someone would have let him know what was coming his way.Watching it now, nice way to present the show with the voice over. Linking it to real events is good.

4/5 stars
Was better than most.
He should have just bribed the government and stayed out of politics.
His Simon Bolivar identification while being a ''narco'' was lunacy ...Comment

In most cases, I think VO is unnecessary....but it works for this show because there's just so much to follow. There's no time to get all of the information across in a subtle way, or with subtext or by using character development.
I know that there had to be meeting where the creators said "VO or not?" The choice must have been clear.

I'm up to the point of them recruiting the Incorruptible unit. I agree it would of been hard, but not impossible.
Also his partners were wildly loyal, when his actions were what caused them problems. Life for them would of been easier without a maniac in charge. As powerful as criminals are, they should know attacking the government and law enforcement is a step over the line.
Absolutely.Comment

I just finished the one when Gacha gets killed by a soldier in chopper. Then I looked him up on Wikipedia. It says that it's his son that led them to him and that he committed suicide with a hand grenade. So why oh why they had to make up shit when it's all real people and events? End of the series ("show" lol) for me.Comment

It's amazing to me that these great Netflix shows fly under everyone's radar. I know people who visit Netflix all the time would know about it, but it's not like it was highly publicized. It's a huge production with lots of actors, and it's a period piece to boot. That's expensive.
Netflix has so much money they can throw millions of dollars at an artist and say "go make me some good shit".
Loving it so far. I read the book Killing Pablo years ago -- which was mainly about the end of his "career", but its great to see how he rose to the top in the early years.

Fuck, really? The way show is made (with all the real photos and stuff) you would expect that at least major facts like how someone died would be accurate.I just finished the one when Gacha gets killed by a soldier in chopper. Definitely spoiled the whole thing for me
And the rest is really thin too, not much about smuggling except for that small airplane at the beginning or dealing with their US counterparts. How about hiding piles of cash on daily basis, they were making daily 5+ times what Walter White had in that storage room

So far it's great, up there with Breaking Bad, Shield and Wire.
Watching Halt and Catch Fire which is good. Just finished watching The Brink, best US comedy for a long time.Comment

The accents and slang used are very accurate to Medellin, where this takes place. I lived in Medellin for 3 years, so no subtitles for me!Well, the thing is, even if you speak Spanish, this is Columbia Spanish, not Spain nor Mexico Spanish... Very different. Habbla Spanish un poquito (obvioulsy not enough), but Patty speaks Spanish fluently (Mother from Madrid), and even her, she has to concentrate to follow because the accent, while removing all the 'bad words' to get what they mean at the end...
To her, Columbian Spanish sound like strong Australia or New-Zealand's English does.
But That being said, it is an excellent series like Netflix does
