When you first start you should be screened for herpes, and if positive should be medicated while working as you can infect someone 72 hours before the outbreak occurs (which is how most people get it). BTW the amount of herpes 1&2 is no greater or less than the general public, which is about 60%. The stats for oral herpes are even higher. (If you ever had a cold sore, you got herpes). I might be stating the obvious but a lot of people don't know that, I didn't know until a few years ago that cold sores were herpes.

Herpes and HPV you can pretty much count on if you are in the industry. And for everyone who says, "I've never caught anything" while defending how safe the industry is, has never had an outbreak or is full of shit. One or the other.
You can carry both the herpes (I & II) and HPV virus and never show a single symptom.
And why doesn't the industry test for Hepatitis B and C? Hep kills more people than HIV every year, yet our industry does not have mandatory testing for it. In fact, nobody even talks about it.
The bottom line is, if you think the people in this industry care about anything other than making a buck, you are sadly mistaken. Actually, I'll give you a 4% window for the few good people out there in porno land. Everyone else is dog shit.Comment

Most people get oral herpes as a child. You ever get a sore on your lip? That is herpes. A "cold sore" is a nice way of saying it because people like you don't want to hear that everyone has herpes.
Condoms don't protect you for Herpes or HPV. So why wouldn't something like that spread like a wild fire?
Truth be told, and I speak from vast experience, most "normal" girls will bareback a guy with no questions asked. While the majority hookers use condoms, no exceptions. The handful of times I've been burned by drippy dick, it's ALWAYS been with normal chicks. Go figure.

Well I know 3 girls I went to highschool with who are in porn now and I know for a fact they have herpes because they gave it to my friends as well as other things. I also have seen them fuck guys without condoms. One of the girls I know I actually talk to her everyonce in a while and she said they just test for hiv. But hiv is a slowly propigating disease so even if you are tested you can still have traces of the virus growing inside of you. I am pretty sure most pornstars do not live long lives.Comment

I saw that shit the other day, too! I went to the beach with my family for over a week and there were about 30 of us in the house. Some of my cousins and I were sitting around a coffee table on the floor playing cards with the TV on, and I heard that in the background and freaked out.
Nobody believed me and they all kept saying I had heard it wrong. Two of my cousins are fucking doctors, and they even said it was probably talking about both kinds. So for the next 3 days I was making everybody listen for the herpes commercial until we finally heard it again.
