    The Art Of Pre-selling

All day long i see webmasters blaming their sponsors on the boards about their conversions ratios. 50% of the time, you can do something about it. So start thinking a bit:

The job of your sponsor's site is to sell... But your job is to PRE-SELL

I have been spending some times reviewing the differences between Stripsaver's and VirtuaGirl's affiliates who convert 1/50 and the one who do at 1/1500.

1- use a banner and be sure that your surfers will feel annoyed by this SO WELL KNOWN sales technic : banner. Unless the banner is extremely new and innovating, are you sure you are on a positive state of mind to buy when you click on a banner? No, you are just thinking : "ok, these guys are going to sell me their stuff". Well.. it's the same for your surfers. They are not in the best STATE OF MIND to buy. They are hiding their wallet before clicking on any banner.

2 - So how to achieve this positive buying STATE OF MIND ? Inform them, tell them it's a tip that nobody else has, make them dreaming, talk to them just as you would talk to a friend like you were giving him the address of the best strip club in town.

Don't start a sell effort but pre-sell. Pre-sell = be INFORMATIONAL, and don't be a saleman (that's my job, not yours)

So now you choose : either you let you CR at 0.1%, or you raise it to 2%. All it takes is 10 minutes of thought...

exactly - now he should shut the fuck up and allow nature to take it's course.
