It's always the little ones. I love when little dog owners see my 150lb Mastiff and they pick up their dog like mine is going to attack. I tell them he's cool and won't do anything so they put their down down. And guess what? Yup...THEIR dog tries to attack mine! Never fails!

I can see that especially with Chihuahua's. When we were thinking about getting a second dog,I saw a Chihuahua in a cage.Went up to say hello, had my hand by the cage.He tired to bite me,so he was a pass.

I like how they show that the little dog will bite if you try to grab the owners tit.

I think the damage inflicted is a more important statistic than the frequency of attacks. I am pretty confident I can rescue a child from an attacking daschie or two, should the need arise. From a rottweiler? Maybe a little more difficult.

only time I got bitten was when I stepped on a sleeping dog in the dark, he was sleeping right in front of the 24/7 shop I was going to

then I went to the doctor and he told me to either observe the dog for a week or get spinal shots for a week, so naturally I went to visit the dog every evening to see if it'll develop rabies symptoms

Pit Bulls are the most agressive, but because of various regulations, they are the least common. And also, people who own pit bulls know that their dogs are agressive so they put muzzles on them and don't take them outside.

But the other dumb wiener dogs look like they can't do anything, so people leave them in the yard and buy lots of them. So that is why you are more likely to get bit by a wiener dog.

If I got bit by a wiener dog, I would barbecue it and feed it to another wiener dog!

A friend of mine has a pitbull, its like 2 years and behaves like a puppy, it can't stop playing and jumping, that dog would never bite a person. I guess it has to do with each dog's personality more than their breed (I'm sure breed helps tho)

This is absolutely true! Most of the time, it's the little dogs. And I know chihuahuas can be very aggressive and this does not surprise me.

Chihuahuas are extremely protective of their family or owners. They will bark at noises if they feel it's suspicious, where some other breeds wouldn't think anything of it.

Also interesting: "...there is sufficient evidence to prove that it is without doubt an ancient breed originating from Pre-Columbian Mexico, and it is believed to outdate any other breed of dog in the Americas. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chihuahua_(dog)

the problem isn't if little dogs attack, because the damage is low. But when a pitbull attacks...

                                        Pit Bulls don't "bite" you

They tear at your throat until you are dead.

This poll is a pile of shit.

                                            other survey

I have a new survey I just completed

                                            EASIEST DOGS TO KICK

                                            1) Dachshund ( 1 out 5 attack )
                                            2) Chihuahua
                                            3) Jack Russel Terrier

                                            HARDEST DOGS TO KICK
                                            1) Pit Bull
                                            2) Doberman
                                            3) Rotweiler

So even if you're being attacked by one of those dogs, you can dispatch them with ease. But if a dog who is built to be a fighter attacks you like one of the other ones I listed... you're pretty fucked

How many fatalities are caused by a Dachshund compared to say a Pit Bull?

Have you ever seen the damage done by one of the others versus the damage by a pitt????

Google some photos, and I dont think that you will feel quite the same any more.

This is when they are the most dangerous. and this is how they end up biting a child.

There are always exceptions to the rule of course
Like my mechanic, he has a pit bull/rottweiler mix. It looks like the fucking devil, it's huge, is all muscle, and sounds like a monster behind the garage's fence But everytime it sees me we tackle each other and wrestle then the dog runs to its house behind the garage to get its tickle me elmo doll it treats like its own puppy for us to play with. Granted the doll has a ton of patches on it, it is the most adorable thing in the world to see this big, evil, killing machine playing with an elmo doll and watching it vibrate and laugh.

its all in your head.. i got a german shepherd husky mix and she's fucking intense at times, you just gotta go in with the big guns lol i live a little close to the hood here and i'd say theres atleast 6 pitbulls in the surrounding buildings that i see regularly, and they're all nice.. my dog's even met some that were supposedly "mean" and there was nothing for dog-dog aggression. pitbulls can be mean sure, but so can a golden retriever.. it's all how it was brought up as a pup.

I am pretty confident I can rescue a child from an attacking daschie or two, should the need arise. From a rottweiler? Maybe a little more difficult.

The pits were kept in the cellar, the dog was tied outside all day, etc. Yet people are incredily opinionated when it comes to pit bulls. This isn't a great time for pit pulls right now. They are going through what German Shepherds went through in the 70s, what Doberman Pinschers went through in the 80s and what the Rottweiller went through in the 90s. It's profiling.

Mainly due to the fact these breeds were overbred as the pit bull has this in recent times. There are so many of them. These cases are rare, but when they do make news it makes HEADLINE NATIONAL NEWS. And it puts a scare into peoples's heads that all Pit bulls are dangerous. When in fact pit bulls have the highest ratings for temperament testing .

I agree, it is how they were raised. I have friends that have friendly pitbulls and rotti's. They were not raised as guard dogs or to be vicious, they are house dogs. I have a black german shepherd and when I take her for a walk people are scared of her. She is not dangerous at all. My black lab shows more aggression then my german shepherd does.

When I'm walking my Lab in the park he walks by my side - maybe moves off a little bit but will always come to me when I call him. There's a woman who walks her two little dogs at the same time as me and every day they come over and try to sniff him and get in his face. I usually call him over but they won't leave him alone and they start to snarl a little.

The stupid bitch said to me one day "their best friend is a big dog so they think they're bigger than they actually are" I almost told her to fuck off and keep her stupid little dogs away from mine. If I see her again and they do it I'll be telling her to keep them away or I'll kick them into the pond.

I think it's probably more the older people who remember the sensational stories from the 1970s of GSD's attacking people. And then those people pass those fears down to their children. The real truth is, that GSDs are one of the smartest canine breeds. Why else would they be the number one choice for K-9 working dogs by the various law enforcements all around the USA?

Most people here I guess have never seen a black german shepherd before. I have even had people cross the street to avoid her when I take her for walks. She does look like a wolf but she is a sweetheart.

These dogs are aggressive because they're TRAINED to be that way. And 9 times out of 10 if a Dachshund attacks you, it's probably not even a real Dachshund since they've been cross bred with other breeds to the point where it's rare that you'll actually find a pure specimen. Careless upbringing and training is the reason why some of these dogs are aggressive, not because of the breed itself.

Most people here I guess have never seen a black german shepherd before. I have even had people cross the street to avoid her when I take her for walks. She does look like a wolf but she is a sweetheart.
Ah! I love those black German Shepherds. Don't see them that often around here either. Most people have the standard brown ones. Those black ones look even more wolf-like. It's a real shame people don't spend more time learning about dogs. They're everywhere, they live with us, and have so for thousands of years.

I'm so good at deciphering a dog's body language that I know when to approach and when not to. A really good book I have is called "Canine Body Language - A Photographic Guide" by Brenda Aloff. It really makes it easy for the reader to understand with all the photos and descriptions.
