Can you switch from Flash player to HTML5 without re-doing all of your videos?

    Tech Can you switch from Flash player to HTML5 without re-doing all of your videos?

    I have over 4,000 videos and they are all .flv.
    Would I have to convert them all to a different format in order to play in an html5 player?

    Is there an easy way to do this? Im dreading doing this

      yes you would need to convert them all.. When I did it a year and a half ago I converted 600+ and it took a longtime (was before I upgraded to a faster PC). Your best bet is to maybe hire a few to convert some for you unless you have a ton of PCs you could use.. I'll do 1,000... for a price

          Just batch convert them to mp4 with a bash script using ffmpeg.

              I would buy faster computer instead of hiring someone. You know, you get the job done + new computer.

                  yes a faster PC would for sure help a lot but I haven't seen a HTML5 conversion that does 4,000 videos bulk..

                  That is why I said unless you have several fast PCs it would take for ever for one person to convert 4k vids

                      ffmpeg and convert them all to h.264 mp4. simples.

                      execute the command:

                      Code:
                       MP4Box -inter 500 filename.mp4
                      to make all your converted MP4's fast start.
