Just thought of a few things an industry with balls and thought long term, would do to fight piracy.

If one of the fighters was banned from a board for fighting piracy, everyone who supports the fight would leave and refuse to post or advertise on the board.

If a board accepted advertising or allowed posts, from pirates and or those who support pirates the people who fight against pirates would leave the board.

Those posts are more likely to get me in trouble on boards rather than do anything. Sad but true.

The 3rd party processors have a lot of power. Commercegate process for Megarotic They advertise on boards, they process for other porn sites. That shows you how much this industry cares.

There is one hope. Visa and Mastercard ban porn outside members areas. Might happen but not holding my breath.

              Another idea...

Encode videos with pixels the surfer isn't going to notice but a computer will read as clear as day... red 10,20 - green 10,20 - blue 10,12 - yellow 5,12

Now you know which surfer fucked you over and you go after that surfer specifically. You make it an industry standard and the AWAA owns the patent with 1 cent licensing to its members.

Now you have a patent suit you can bring against anyone using your videos. If someone does finally decode your shit you jail the motherfucker anytime he enters a friendly extradition country with the US.

You get webmasters in his country to fuck with him. Show up at his door. Harass him and his family. Intimidate. Legally. Put fliers all over his block that he is a porno pirate. See how his neighbors like him now. Tell his employer he is a big security risk and a liability because if he did any of his work on their computers they are getting sued too.

Just takes money. You all have tons of it. Collectively you have tons of tons and it only takes 1% from each to do this shit right.

Yup this is the kind of thing Im talking about. Ive also mentioned embedding IP information, or even having software that overlays the ip and or username, or a code that can be crosschecked to tell you who the user is. Ok so lets say you do it this way. I am using h.264 .mp4s via a rtmpe encrypted stream via flash 3 servers on a cdn. Now in my player I can overlay a watermark, how hard would it be to overlay a watermark that the server pulls off the user viewing the stream and you have the users info written right to the video on the overlay? Not that hard, and doing it as an overlay on top of the stream should use very little processing power. If you want to get real fancy have the overlay switch positions every few minutes. That way anyone wanting to capture the stream and black out the watermark would just get annoyed and not bother. This could all be done via a mod to the player and some sort of htaccess interface that pulls up the user info that way.

Catch a vid in the wild and you have the thief if its not a fraud signup (those can be cut down via current methods of course).

I just get tired of all the "it can't be done" crap. No one is fucking trying, so ya it can't be done if no one puts forth an effort. Forget about going after all the sites pushing this stuff, and concentrate on keeping those sites from ever getting our new content.

                    Do something.

I saw Airek try to do something. Perhaps the first something needs to be a fund that pays the someone running it. I make far too much to do anything for free.

One idea I had... OK... Take your cameras you already have and do some fake shit like gutting a chicks stomach open. Film roaches in time lapse eating a dead pig... etc, etc, etc... Now splice this footage into your regular video footage.

Something small and fast at 12 minutes and more often and longer as the video goes on... Then upload it to all tubes so that people are freaked out not knowing what to trust... Perhaps you can only have 2 to 4 seconds of this kind of shit in a 20 minute movie so that tube owners would have to literally watch all uploads... Something they are not going to do...

Take all of your surfers passwords... Run them against tube site accounts. Login as legit users with a trusted status... Upload shit as them... change the email on the account... fuck around.

I think 5 dollars submissions has some cheap labor to do these sorts of tasks...

People always say "It will just get hacked" I don't buy that. And if that is the case, you make it proprietary per site or program, and you make it so it can easily be changed up quickly. I just don't get the defeatist attitudes. They blame it on DRM that came out what in 2000 2001? And remained basically unchanged in how it was implemented. So instead of people trying to form a coalition to go after the sites using the stolen property why not get the top say 10 to 20 programs to put resources behind finding better ways to lock things down.

People that just want to give up and allow members to keep all their shit for the cost of a rental fee I just don't get. Yet the same ones bitch about the status quo of the U.S. government, are the ones that happily eat the Status quo muffins of the current adult paysite model. lol

Industry wide change, or you may as well convert your paysites to tubes, and get your dating and cam ads up.

Indeed, just go after the sponsors and it will cut all of their revenue stream.

But my guess is that it's too late for that... even at the beginning no one did that much to stop them(besides exposing them on msg boards) and now everyone and their mother is advertising on those tube sites.

A girl once told me "Give me 8 inches and make it HURT".

So, I fucked her twice and hit her with a brick.

Doesn't even matter, and it takes the focus off the REAL problem. People cry about "content theft" constantly, but what they really mean is illegal use. The theft occurs (at least for the exclusive stuff that was never on dvd and only in members areas) when the member that was entitled to have personal use of the content decides to upload and share said content with some porn sharing community. So while its not a good thing at all that those sites reuse the content, its not where the issue starts, and its certainly not where it will be stopped. The only way to stop it is to cut off the flow of the content being used at its source. The members area.

Its like cops going after all the junk yards, and chop shops making money off selling stolen cars, but handing out keys to all the people that steal the car in the first place.

Here you go sir, here is a key to that 2008 mercedes. Thank you for paying us 30.00 this month. Enjoy your new car!

That all sounds good in theory, problem being there will ALWAYS be a sponsor willing to take all that traffic. ALWAYS. Always...

It's very resource intensive to encode videos on the fly separated for each member.

BUT, if you are going to do something like that, why make it hidden? You have their real name, watermark it right on the video. I guarantee they aren't going to want to share it.

Actually, just thought of something else. If you apply a steganographic watermark to all your videos they don't have to be unique. They can't be removed because there is no way to find them. And you can create a spider that goes out and views all the videos out there are tries to find the watermarks. If they are found you get alerted that someone stole your content and you can automatically send a cease and desist to the site or their hosting company.

Idea I was saying wasn't for downloadable vids, so it would just be an overlay that works via the actual player. With what we use its RTMPE Encrypted h.264 .mp4 via a flash 3 media server. So only way to grab it is screep capture and the player would overlay the watermark.

Acacia did not fade away, they were fought hammer and nail and a lot of money to a standstill by a few people who had the balls to fight it.

It's interesting to see the way some want pirates protected by the "Right of Privacy" so they can continue to fuck this industry and not get caught. I must go to Gideons site sign up rip it and then put it on free sites. While hiding behind my "Privacy Rights"

Will this industry ever come together while idiots like Gideon exist?

Show up at his door. Harass him and his family. Intimidate. Legally. Put fliers all over his block that he is a porno pirate. See how his neighbors like him now. Tell his employer he is a big security risk and a liability because if he did any of his work on their computers they are getting sued too.
Make sure he doesn't live in Florida when you come to harass him, because people blow your head off when you disregard a no trespassing sign, and your family can't even sue after.

Anyway, piracy is only one part of the problem, the smaller one. As stated before, the major problem is supposedly "reputable" programs, promoting rape blogs, gore sites, underage tubes, and torture sites, acting as if they don't know about it.

Eventually all this is going to blow up into our faces, and people are going to be so disgusted with all this that not even ultra liberals are going to lift a finger to protect this industry from big bro.

It might be an uphill battle to fight piracy, but eventually the big wigs like Viacom are going to win this battle for us. As for the sponsoring of sick and criminal shit we are on our own, and my last suggestion in here, to oust and shun the culprits, who make a quick buck on KP and gore went unheard.

I have figured out a couple of ways to protect images so that you will have the identity of the person that has been giving out your content for free. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Unfortunately, it's not our (Asian XXX Content) position to add this data because we expect our customers to distribute them.

As for videos, you could use an open source video codec and modify it just enough so that the tube sites cannot decode the video when uploaded. I suppose that you might as well just use WMV with DRM at that point and only issue licenses from within the members area. The tube sites would not be able to obtain a license and therefore the video will be scrambled or not uploaded at all. I think this is only a slight inconvenience to your customers, if any.

The only other way is to cover each others back when you see stolen content. If you know who it belongs to, let the content owner know. I do my best to look out for other people in this business and many of our customers also notify us if they run across our stolen content. Generally all it takes is an e-mail or two and the problem is solved. If not, I have been known to employ alternative methods of getting their provider to take action.

In other news....I bought and installed FlashServer3 on my box and am now streaming all future content in the members area in h.264 via encrypted rtmp (thanks for the constant posts on that stickyfingers...it was just annoying enough to make me try it lol )
And I hired removeyourcontent.com to start sending out notices so I don't have to waste my time on it.

Tubes and torrents are like looking at the wayback machine to me. They are always in my rearview and can never give a surfer the interactive experience of a solo girl site.
So now, I'm going to look at all the content we shot in the first year of Claudia-Marie.Com as "branding material". I can't get it back. I can only have it removed over and over.
But the new stuff is gonna be a little harder for them to fuck with and steal.

My guess is that tubes and torrents will continue to be filled with the generic content found on the "mega sites" Which will of course be the same old male and female models from LA Models Direct shooting together for the umpteenth time. And with no way to interact with these over-saturated girls and the fact that you've already seen them do the same guy over and over on a dozen different sites...well, I think that business model has pretty much played itself out already.

I know I can't seem to make sales anymore for any of the big companies that shoot in Porn Valley. Best to promote sites that feature girls who aren't in porn valley and that the members can talk to and chat with, etc.

Tubes and torrents can't do that.

If you get a chance hit me with a u/p so I can show her and check out the h264. Btw try rtmpe it uses a bit more processing power server side and client side but your streams are more secure.

If you get a chance hit me with a u/p so I can show her and check out the h264. Btw try rtmpe it uses a bit more processing power server side and client side but your streams are more secure.
What I need to do is keep tweaking when I'm encoding the vids. It took me a couple of days to find some settings that looked good. I'm shooting with my panasonic AG DVX 100B which is a kick ass vidcam...BUT it's NTSC 4:3 Not a HD cam.

I'm using Adobe Premiere CS3 to do the job. But there are no cool h.264 presets for a 720 x 480 Most of the presets are of higher res for HD cams or else they are the tiny bullshit presets they put in there for people wanting to throw shit on youtube etc.

I need to find somebody who has really tweaked it out for what I'm doing and give me every detailed setting. Bit rate, progressive or interlaced, if interlaced what field order etc. I have a decent looking result. But since this is new to me I'm not sure if I have the BEST result. My newest update was shot on location with no lighting. Just a window open in the afternoon. So it's not the best to judge by. I went back and did the next to latest one as well which is lit up real well. So I'm trying to use it as my test subject.

I'm using Flow Player in place of the player that came with flash server because of flow players nice controls.

Anyway, I'll get you a u/p so you and Dana can indulge in your sexual perversions.

I am talking tube sites.... Those require anyone with windows installed. 99.9% of the worlds surfers can surf tube sites and figure out what they are doing.

In my circle of friends (not inside the industry) there are perhaps 3 people that know how to use torrents... 12 that still trust and use Kazaa, Limewire, etc... and another 150 that just surf and think PornoTube is really nifty... like tubular...

While torrents, limewire, newsgroups, IRC and password forums are hurting the industry they all required you to have a brain. They required protocol... No, not protocol the method of sending and receiving, I mean protocol as in signing up, asking in the right manners, etc... All that mumbo jumbo scares newbs away...

Tubes make things so easy... too easy... just click and watch.. No need to signup and have the man getting your infos...

I don't mind pics getting out there as much. I think now the video is more the center of the paysite and pics are secondary. I even give members ability to dl the zip sets of each photo set. Watermarks are always on there so I see that more as promotions, even though I dont want that to leave the site either really, but I can live with it more.

Import your full quality mpeg2 or whatever format you use when you first export your videos, or if you have the project saved open that, then goto export and Main Concept Mpeg Pro will show up as an option. Test it with whichever default H264 profile is closest to your current format and see how it comes out.

I think you said your vids play right off, if not you'll need to do one additional step after you finish encoding in cs3. Email me if you need any help, or icq either way. Both are in sig.

You have a quarterly meeting where you decide what the price shall be. What the DRM protocol will be. Etc... etc...

Right now you have a bunch of idiots running around with their heads cut off and when you try and stop them to give them some direction they take a swing at you.

I think this is a great idea. It has to be because I said the same thing in here about a year ago. My idea was to create an organization where everybody pays in a couple of bucks a month per site and gets to put an emblem on the site, something like " copyrights protected with balablaba..". The money is being used to hire a kick-ass attorney and do a couple of showcase lawsuits if member's copyrights are violated. You only have to take down one or two tube and board owners and may be go after a couple of uploaders. If one falls and goes to jail for a couple of years the shit will stop immediately.

Today, I'd even extend this organization with a voluntary code of conduct for reputable porn companies, since many sites have popped up promoting violence, KP, and rape, and guess whose banners pop up when you click on the "Sick grandpa sneaks into 5th graders bed"-link? You know who!

We need to distance ourselves from companies who promote kiddy porn and violence, no matter how big they are. That way we can at least say we tried to stop this sick trend. Once the federal censor hammer swings at us it's going to be too late.

I don't do business with companies that promote rape and KP and you guys shouldn't either.

                                                                                            a) The RIAA and MPAA are bigger than any porn 'club' would be
                                                                                            b) NOTHING they have done has stopped piracy, in fact, several academics have demonstrated that large PR around their big cases has INCREASED traffic to torrent sites
The RIAA and the MPAA mostly go after P2P sites and users. That is a tough battle because of how P2P works. But with tube sites hosted in the USA and a lot of other countries it's not near as hard to deal with in court. The RIAA, MPAA, and other orgs/companies have taken down quite a few sites that had the content right there hosted on the site.

                                                                                              1. The people who trade on Bittorrent aren't the main porn buyers.

                                                                                              2. No one protects their content.

                                                                                              3. We are doing more damage to ourselves by starting sites full movie tubes like Redtube and Pornhub than any Torrent site will ever do.

If we took care of #2 and #3 we wouldn't have to worry about #1.

Welcome to the real world. The truth is inconvenient because acknowledging it typically requires (inconvenient) action. In the case of copyright infringement it would require money, brains, and time. While many in here seem to have time a plenty, brains and money are relatively rare.

Plus, in case of the nasty rape & torture tube sites it would also require a clear commitment, namely to stay away from scum bags who bankroll them. These dating site affiliate-checks come in very handy to some. Who gives a fuck if they are also the revenue-base for rape, torture, and underage porn sites. Money is money!

Let's get back to biz: "Brandi Brunette posing photoshopped in front of a junk-Harley (pic inside)"

"Ohh, I am creaming in my pants"

I still post my rants about it all here and there, but normally just get the standard "drm wont work" "Surfers will hate it" "You didnt run a paysite since 1996 so you dont know shit"

Its all good though, Im working on securing our exclusive content to the best current technology allows, and once something better comes Ill switch to that. If the entire industry would push for more secure member areas tube sites etc would not have any free content to use. Ok back to work some more on a Sunday evening.

                                                                                                    1. The people who trade on Bittorrent aren't the main porn buyers.

                                                                                                    2. No one protects their content.

                                                                                                    3. We are doing more damage to ourselves by starting sites full movie tubes like Redtube and Pornhub than any Torrent site will ever do.

If we took care of #2 and #3 we wouldn't have to worry about #1.
I discounted #1 in my original post...

But here are some lowball numbers...

Everyday on the IRC, in newsgroups and on forums passwords are traded for free. Each day in the IRC chat rooms collectively there are about 10,000 passwords trades. Add in the other mediums and it is 12,000...

When I brought this up a while ago the webmasters all said it doesn't matter because strongbox and pennywize keep them out. But that software doesn't keep them out because of the 12,000 passes traded on the IRC, about 6,000 of them are cracked in a personal way. You ask for site.com and someone cracks the password on the spot. Only YOU and the original owner have the password. You all set your scripts to allow AOL users which change proxies several times an hour. So now this surfer and the original are both using the password within your scripts limits... And... both people may never use the password at the same time anyway.

So your scripts collectively block 7,500 passwords a day.. Collectively it causes some bullshit sized customer service but you all don't notice it that much since it is spread over 3,000+ adult web sites...

If out of the 12,000 people using these mediums only 2,000 (1 in 6) actually bought porn that day you would have made $49,900 at $24.95 per member. But again, since it is spread over 250 web site operators you only miss out on $200...

So the only guys that give a shit are the guys (and gals) running their own site. They DO miss that money. But we have chalked it up to business as usual...

$18,213,500 off the table a year... Anyone want it? No?? OK... it is gone...

Now the tube sites enter the picture. They get a collective 100,000,000 viewers a day... Perhaps only 12,000,000 are unique users from USA, CA, AU, UK and FR... Others don't buy porn so who gives a shit?
Converting at the TGP standard of 1:10,000 that is $101,940 dollars lost a day...

$407 dollars a day missing per program... and that is why the programs still don't give a shit...

Part of me thinks the tube stuff isn't really all that bad... But then tubes still are not the norm... They are still "catching on"... And once they are ingrained and enough videos are out there waiting to be uploaded it will be a problem that blows away everything there was previously...
