Right now it's the best idea since dollar/euro has increased in about 2x times. On the other hand, Russian women are used to date/marry Russians. Yes, I know Russia is not Disneyland, but enough many tourists seem to survive each year. Though I haven't been too eager to visit. Estonia soon after the collapse of Soviet Union gave enough good picture for what to expect for. Though that was 20 years ago. But anyways, if I would visit Russia, it would be Petersburg. I could drive to there in "few" hours, Moscow in another hand is very far away and I guess there isn't that much other cities/places to visit, unless I would go fishing to Kola Peninsula.Comment

Those are stories from 80's (anti-alcoholic campaign) and 90's (poorness). In 21st century the country has changed a lot, so you won't find a single street kid here. Furthermore, you will be surprised but there is many times less of homeless people on the Spb streets than in Rome or London. And the streets here are much less dirty too.
Sorry to say that, but the prices here are very high nowadays. A lifetime in Russian prison will be enough I think
