Underworld rocked the Hollywood Bowl last night with a high energy dance party. This was my 3rd time seeing them and the 2nd time at The Bowl. It was epic and they played dubnobasswithmyheadman in its entirety.
I saw U2 at The Forum last month and this was the third tour of theirs that I've seen. This one is for indoor arenas and although they've left L.A. already if you can catch their performance, these guys are still putting out excellent 21st century shows. Go.
Who knows if the chance will come again, but if you ever have the opportunity to see a Prince show, even if you think you aren't that big of a fan, it is one of the most entertaining concerts you will ever see. I've seen his show 4 times, every one different and a great time.
If you're looking for a good rock concert they're getting harder and harder to find. Muse lost a lot of steam with 2012's "The 2nd Law" but their newest album "Drones" is a step back in the right direction. I've seen them live twice and they put on a great show. On tour this year.

Great stuff Rand! U2 are always great, as is Metallica and AC/DC.
But yes, most of the great rockers are too old to rock and roll (and too young to die).

All Hail Jethro Tull.
Oddly enough, out of the over 150 performances I've seen, I haven't seen any of the bands you listed above and missing Queen perform live is my biggest concert-miss disappointment. No one will ever match Freddie Mercury. No one.
And I know I probably missed my last chance to see AC/DC by not attending Coachella this year. That sucks. Back in Black is rock genius.
But I did get to see Stevie Ray Vaughn on his Superstitious tour and that's one I'm really glad I was able to see. I've also seen David Bowie, BB King, Michael Jackson (Victory Tour), Jimmy page and Robert Plant, Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, etc.... and my first concert ever... Elvis.
Tickets lined up so far this year... Tame Impala and Grace Jones. More to come.

Underworld is EDM and if you didn't "grow up" with them you probably wouldn't understand and that's okay. It's not everyone's cup of tea. I personally like all kinds of music from Mozart to Metallica. And that's just the M's.
Underworld is unique in that scene. Those who know them tend to love them.

This is the last epic concert tour I saw that I would place at top of my list. True musicians playing epic music. Simply an amazing concert.
Also from this show was the following song, but I couldn't find a good quality live version. The 2 minute guitar solo that begins at 5:09 was simply mind-blowing live - probably the best musical segment I have ever seen live - and one of the greatest guitar solos ever.
Call me old, but Heart has been excellent every time I have seen them. Opening concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was pretty epic , just because of all the different artists performing.
Lucky you. Here I am wondering where all the great bands and artists go. I grew up listening to cassette tapes of Metallica, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam, Van Halen, Nine Inch Nails, and so much more. Unfortunately, my area doesn't have much luck in having good concerts - or at least concerts that I feel are worth my money.
Now, even if I have access to the internet, much of the spotlight is wasted with these new 'artists' in the likes of Bieber and Miley Cyrus.
In the words of the late great concert impresario Bill Graham, "There is nothing like a Grateful Dead concert"
Going to see the farewell shows in Santa Clara this week, Trey Anastasio stepping in for Garcia. Although Jerry was and will forever be without peer, the shows should still be a hoot.
No other band in human history has accomplished what the Grateful Dead have or resonated so deeply with their audience. Musicians will be playing their canon of music hundreds of years from now, much like Mozart and Beethoven etc., just because it is so fun to play and improvise from.

"What did we learn? Well, as painful as it might be to say, it makes the recycled, generic nonsense so unbelievably popular in the current EDM world seem positively pedestrian. When you have a puree of influences flushed through a blender with nothing more than a desire to pulsate furiously, it stands as utter shit in comparison with something as pristine as Underworld. They struck ground when no one cared, and somehow, this beat-obsessed generation simultaneously missed the boat on one of the forefathers that made it all possible and the spoils of the genre are going to the most derivative excrement currently representing it. Real electro heads know where it?s at though, and Underworld have earned their permanent station alongside Daft Punk, and Orbital as some of the best and most important the medium has ever seen."
