So both reasons are correct. We really love digital gadgets (if you get down to the Moscow metro, you'll barely find a person playing on iPad, browsing something with a mobile phone, reading of eInk book etc - thanks good, we have a free wi-fi there). And we (not everybody of course) also need some additional prove for a case of accident on the road. Those dashcams are really helpful in those cases.
