I live in the carribean and yes they do rake seaweed from beaches at the nicer hotels. But seaweed doesnt necassarily mean the beach is dirty. It is just natural.
Some parts have a higher concentration where alot of boats mix.
But I prefer going out on "abondonded" beaches where you find seaweed on the shore over tourist spots anyday. Seaweed does not mean its dirty. Again it is natural.
