Here are the pictures I've made @ Miami Beach (the same East Cost) just a couple years ago in about the same time (the Memorial Day):







As you can see, the beach and water are very clear. So once again. I don't want to say your beaches are bad or something like that. I just want to say somebody has to clean them sometimes. You won't see any seaweed garbage at private (I mean the hotel privacy) beaches in Seychelles or even Egypt or Turkey. Those scrubs the sand with rakes at least 2x time a day. Just FYI and nothing personal.
Some people don't consider seaweed garabage and also don't need people raking the beach
