A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman?s hat advertising a Scottish police force?s new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims.

Tayside Police?s new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community.

The choice of image on the Tayside Police cards - a black dog sitting in a police officer?s hat - has now been raised with Chief Constable John Vine.

The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert.

We have hundreds of thousands, if not millions of muslims in our cities here. When the first waves were coming, lots of white people were really mad that our country made changes to accept them into our society.

When I was little we said the lord's prayer in school - not allowed anymore. Hand on the bible. Things like that.

Everyone got mad that they were "changing our ways" blah blah blah.

They were changing the CHRISTIAN things.. Why should the Christians have a monopoly? Most of them really just want religion seperated from government, which I believe in.

As for the puppy, I agree that's taking it too far, but they have the right to complain, as do you, because your country allows freedom of speech (which we all hold very dear here, except maybe you jet because it doesn't affect you!)

In my eyes, the muslims, east indians, sikhs etc are just very smart! Nobody here wants to get involved in politics, nobody cares about voting, we just ignore that stuff.. Well, not them. They came here and saw that if they wanted things changed, they would have to change things themselves. They complained for a while, then got smart and started RUNNING FOR POLITICAL POSITIONS.

Since nobody here cared enough to notice, now our local public offices are mostly held by muslims, indians and sikhs, unless it's a very italian neighbourhood, or portugese etc. They stick with "their guy"

As far as I see it, they care more about Canada than we do - good for them!

if you look throughout history you'll find several examples of widepsread muslim immigration into Europe. this has usually been met first with accommodation, then the muslim population would take things a bit too far and try to change western society to suit them, and following that they would be removed again for a few centuries... there's no reason to believe that the present times will be very different than the past. just some kind of cultural phenomena that seems to play out every few hundred years for whatever reason.

in Shafi sect Dogs are avoidable in some situations i think, but im from Hanefi/Maturidi Sect, so we don't avoid dogs as it.

i mean if im not wrong they say don't feed dogs inside of the house but normaly we have no problem with dogs except that.
