Thank you, if I could just delete the last 2 years of my life I would. Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of really unfair and horrible things happen to me that were beyond my control. It was what I chose to do afterwords. Everybody goes through hard times. The best way to process your grief isn't through multiple bottles of JagerMeister.
The week after the Phoenix forum, I went home to visit my parents in Rhode Island on Easter and they had a full-fledged intervention on me. I was kind of expecting it. Then that same Easter Sunday I got this news:

A couple of these guys had been really close friends of mine since I was 18. So I made a detour to Atlanta, only to get to the hospital just in time to watch one of my friends die.
Then I started thinking back on the last few years, I realized I had become just the person people were portraying me to be. I decided, then and there, I need get the albatross I've had around my neck for the last two years, sober up, and get back to doing what I do best.
I didn't need rehab, there was no getting the shakes or having to detox... at a certain point you just decide enough is is enough and decide to put your shit in order.
I know it is only been a brief period of time since then, but without sounding like a cliché... I'm taking it one day at a time.
