promoting 50 sponsors and tracking

say if someone is promoting like 50 different sponsors. And if you are receiving checks.

How do you keep up to date with if the sponsors didn't miss a payment or a check got lost. Is there any way around that? do you guys even make sure everything is there?

So what would you do if you were in my shoes? just write down all the sponsors and how much you were supposed to get receive for that pay period then just keep checking your mail and update the list?

Is there a easier way to do this? like to keep track if you received all the payments?
please let me know of any techniques you use to make life easier.
