You could get a classic challenger for less than that.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

I know MSRP is 42. goodgirl and I went to the local dealer before they were even released due to an email I was sent as a Charger owner. I was thinking, "great, keeping my car in perfect shape is going to really pay off." When the sales guy told me 40 over it took a lot to not laugh and cry a little.
Who knows, maybe gas prices have risen enough to make them rethink their position, but I have my doubts. The economy doesn't suck here so much, so I doubt they will have trouble selling them.
You are going to love it. Congrats. I know I still love my Charger as much as I did the day I bought it.
Even though goodgirl hates the idea, I want it in red if I can get them to be more reasonable in the pricing.

I will admit, when the STS first came out it was the first time I ever stopped at a car dealership merely because I drove by and saw it on the lot.It was until this
"MILFORD, Michigan ? The wait is over as GM today released official specifications for its 2009 Cadillac CTS-V performance sedan. Its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 will produce 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque."

Just found some old notes.
At the time the sales guy told me the MSRP was going to be $46k with a $20k markup.
Now that I have cut the markup in half (in my mind) it sounds more affordable. Guess I will have to see what they will give me as trade in value on the Charger.
I love watching this.Last edited by baddog; 06-28-2008, 10:15 AM.Comment

One of the things I've never understood about life is that the value of homes goes up, while the value of cars goes down.Haha i was just having a laugh with a buddy of mine this afternoon when we were talking about cars. We are both pretty enthusiastic car guys and have both lost our ASSES with cars... Spending too much to have one first, spending too much or having a longer than wanted lease...
My suggestion even though it might not be the popular one would be to wait for 3 months and you will have one for LESS than sticker price and you won't feel like a schmuck. Otherwise bite the bullet, spend the extra 20k+ and hope you don't see this thread in 3 months haha ;)
Anyways it's a great looking car and I hope you enjoy it (if you end up buying it.

The house I live in is brand new, but after two years it's got some wear and tear on it. It should be worth less than what I paid for it. And... The older the house gets the more it's going to need some serious repairs, new water heater, AC, roof, etc. Yet if someone wanted to today, they could get the plans to my house, and build the same exact house.
They don't make my car any more and never will again. My car is four years old, has 20k miles on it, and other than a few chips in the paint it's like brand new.
This doesn't make sense to me.Herschel Savage

Buy a limited edition car, store it for 40 years and watch it appreciate.Comment

Yeah the new CTS-V is badass! Apparently it's an M5 eater, which should be interesting to see.way over priced for a dodge I mean the new camaro is coming out soon which is gonna be high 20's mid 30's the new cts-v is coming for around 60k (will beat the zo6) so I don't understand why you would pay $1 over sticker I mean is not fun to look good in the other guys rearview
Only problem with the caddy's is that they loose so much of their value off the lot, so if i end up getting that one it will DEFINETLY be a lease. My Escalade is worth 30k less than what I bought it for in less than a year and thank god i leased that as well.

Man, let me tell you. I'm not going to say how much I'm paying but I have an '06 300c SRT-8 (all srt8's are the same) with an MSRP of $47k, only problem that it is now worth $28k or less. This is an AMAZING car and the complements are never ending, don't get me wrong I am more than satisfied with it, but if you are the type of person to worry about resale value, think twice. With a Challenger though, the resale might be a bit higher, but it's still Dodge so...Comment

I was under the impression that 50th anniversary cars only came in the maroonish convertible, not in z06 or any other color. Did you just throw 50th badges on there or was it actually available in z06?been there done that, bought a 50th anniversary in 03
I would take a new 08 z06 any day over this challenger but now the zo6's are insane expensive. The mac daddy one is anyways. Close t0 85k or something (i think)
this was my zo6 a few days after i bought it in 03
It was their 50th anniversary edition:

I hope I don't sound rude by saying this but I would not say I had a 50th anniversary if it was a fake nor would I be stupid enough to put 50th Anniversary Badges on a 50k dollar automobile.
But in answer to your question, Yes they did make a "Special Edition" 50th anniversary corvette that was like a maroon or a purple color on light grey interior i believe.
A girls' vette.
But Every 2003 vette came with 50th anniversary badges. And all 2003 vettes are 50th anniversary editions. As the first vette was made in 1953.Comment

Shhh, I can hear my property value dropping.
While I love my car, it certainly was not purchased as an investment.Man, let me tell you. the big thing about the new challenger is that it really looks like a challenger

i have been reading about the progress of the concept. sat in the first concept built a few years ago. been watching as it goes. its not about that car versus other cars. its just about that car. the people that are going to buy this car are not GM or Ford guys really. they are Mopar fans. it is brand new classic mopar muscle. air bags and disc brakes in a classic that will start every morning and not stall. it will replace my cuda-sean

I had a 2003 corvette also. It's the special badging on the side in front of the doors that only came on the special edition, that's what I was thinking about.
