I don't either. The movie bored me, and DeNiro is one of favorite actors. But his role in the movie "Awakenings" was the most incredible acting i've ever seen him do. It's worth to watch this movie just to see DeNiro act. Pure brilliance. I'll never understand why he didn't get an oscar for that one.Originally posted by pornopete

Since someone listed U-571 as one of their favorites (.....) I'll recommend DAS BOOT again.. It's #36 on that top 250 list, btw. Don't miss this one.

Just never tire of watching them.
But I agree with the movies made in the last four years, most of them were written by advertising execs. You know the ending 10 minutes into the film. Made for the common denominator and to appeal to 15-20 year olds.
So many would never of been made if it was not for the toys they can sell off it. Wonder how long before the porn industry jump on this bandwagon?Comment

Interesting to note how many Martin Scorcese and Francis for Coppola movies are there..
The Godfather should be no. 1...absolutely riveting performance by Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and Robert Duvall. Especially Marlon Brando, he has a presense in that movie you can just feel.
Did Tender Mercies end end up on the list?....Robert Duvall is tour de force in that film.
Oh, and as for why alot of old movies are on that list....there was a time when movies where about emotions and feelings and really touched and affected you. Mot many of those left...mostly pure entertainment or sappy.
