Simple Windows Movie Maker-Type Video Editor?

I am looking for something extremely simple to edit vids. I do NOT need Sony Vega or anything powerful or fancy. This would be for:

    Adding opening/closing sequences
    Simple text-only titles
    Simple blur/fades
    Output to WMV
Output to MP4 (not a requirement)

Is there anything out there that does this? I was using Windows Movie Maker on my XP machine and it was fast and super simple. But now I am on a dreaded Windows 8.1 machine and it has Windows Live Mail Movie Maker (WHY they put a video editor inside a mail program is beyond me).

The newest version sucks donkey balls. Overly complex and basically a piece of shit. So are there any (free or paid) simple editing software programs I can get that are as simple as Windows Movie Maker used to be?

    Thanks in advance!

There are a number of Google Chrome apps that do all you mentioned above.

        Spend you some brain.

Another vote for Pinnacle. Powerful yet easy and cheap. (Insert mom joke here)

OK so Pinnacle and Sony Vega. Great point about the YouTube tutorials! Hadn't thought of that. My needs are so retardly simple it's like opening up Photoshop to resize a pic. But I will check them all out today.

              Thanks everyone!

I used to use Pinnacle too - easy enough to use.

These days I've been using Camtasia Studio 8. It's $300 but is really good.

Wow, that's even more than Final Cut Pro X.

Just use Adobe Premiere elements it works just like WMM in story board mode, only has sound scrub and more that makes it so much better.

Final Cut Pro X is $300, add another $50 for Compressor.

I have used: Sony Vegas, Adobe Premier Pro, and Final Cut Pro X. I also have Camtasia, which is a really nice program, but if your goal is to edit videos then you should run with a software that is dedicated to editing videos.

Right now I'm using Final Cut Pro X over Sony Vegas. I don't know why but the quality always seems better with Final Cut Pro X over Sony Vegas, and it will open videos that Sony Vegas always flagged as error videos. Granted if you don't have a Mac, go with Adobe Premier Pro as it is absolutely fantastic, but quite a bit more expensive if you run on the CC platform.

Well the reason it needs to be simple is that I am not working with raw files or scenes but rather already-edited finished scenes/films. So it's really just splitting, adding titles and a simple fade.
