She'll collect if they have assets - it's pointless to sue somebody who doesn't have anything - blood from a stone.
as for the huge damages award - i think if the defendant appealed that it would get knocked down quite a bit but by registering your content with the Copyright Office you ensure that you will get statutory damages which are large.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting.
