Now you never have to recharge it again.

What the heck. What am I doing wrong?

On high power the microwave may be sending a bit too much power into your phone. Try reducing the power to 8 or 7.

Also be sure to turn the turntable off, and orient the phone so it is 90 degrees perpendicular to the to the magnetron, the microwave emitter, usually on the right hand side of the microwave. Place it about 12 cm away from the magnetron. Since the wavelength of microwave oven radiation is about 12 cm and the quantum energy of a microwave photon is about 1 x 10-5 eV, place your phone at 12 cm away from the magnetron for fastest charging. Closer or further is less efficient.

                Bill Nye the science guy.

Was a show my kid used to watch. Your explanation was very scientific. I couldn't get it at 90 degrees so the magnetron ended up melting the emitter.

They should make something to hold it at the right angle.
