I've got the Droid Turbo and I LOVE it !!! Very solid phone and the battery life is pretty damn awesome
Not to mention, they give you a one year FREE replacement warranty on the screen if it happens to break.
One other phone to consider would be the Galaxy S6 coming out in the very near future.
But I guess like someone else and your self said, if everything else is Apple in your house, maybe it'd make sense to just go with the Iphone 6, even though I think Android is a MUCH better OS.
