Tube sites mostly affected general hardcore,babes and teen market where people doesnt need much for quick jerk off.They dont need hq content and all other similar things.

As per this thread there is only one way to stop the tube torrent issue. Protect your content. Yes you cannot STOP them, but you can make it too much of a pain in the ass for them. Only way to get our exclusive videos is through screen capture and they will lose quality and have to have a computer tied up the entire time to capture the video. So to rip the site isn't able to be done via any script that auto downloads all links on a page. Sawy chawy. Get AWAY from allowing your members to download and KEEP your content. Pics are not as big of a deal, but videos nope. They are RENTING your site, not buying it. Have more content that they want. Crap quality video can be found on any tube or torrent site. Scale up your quality. If they are on 56k they are not likely to be a customer of ours, or someone that we target. Im not downgrading our quality to make Joe Cheapo happy. If you cant afford broadband you are unlikely to A. have a connection that can properly stream a video, and B. have a computer that will properly play back a 720p HD video.

So A. Protect your content

B. Keep your quality higher than some tube site.

C. Market to your customer that will appreciate quality.

Here to me is the most telling part of this whole discussion. When I think back about my buddy that this thread is about he and I used to talk about paysites. He would tell me how he thought Captian Stabbin was wild or he liked some other site or things like that. Now he talks about tube sites. For the first time since I have been in this business there are porn sites that the public is talking about and knows as houshold type names. Sadly they aren't paysites.

We brought this on ourselves. This industries reaction to things is to give more away. If sales lag, give more away. If traffic dips, give more away. We started with circle jerk sites then made link sites which became TGPs then MGPs then thumb preview TGPs and MPGs and now tube sites. We race to see who can give more away than the next guy.

When I started in this biz we were like the people that give out samples at the grocery store. They give you a bite in hopes that you will buy the full product. We went from giving a bite to giving a small lunch to giving a full dinner to giving a full dinner with drinks and dessert and now we are giving away a full free buffet with a pitcher of ice water in hopes of selling that person a glass of Pepsi.
