Don't sweat it. People are often quick to criticize that which they do not understand. Same shit happened to me after telling a bunch of my friends how awesome Katy Perry was at the Victoria's Secret fashion show in 2010. I remember thinking like "African-American please, I scored a free ticket to an awesome fashion show with super hot models and a cool crowd, took some killer ecstasy, and thought she put on a 'great show'. What did you do that was so special on that night?" And still the criticism lasted for what seemed like 2 or 3 years. One guy even still makes the occasional snide Katy Perry comment every now then. Annoying. It's not like I never claimed that she was a musical savant or anything. Just that she put on a good show. People. What can you do.

To whom did she sell out to? The Lincoln Center crowd? So what. Remember those people probably feel the same about your music as you do about Lady Gaga's music. No matter what, there will always be self-professed 'music lovers' out there with strong loyalties to their own preferred genres and eras who will judge other people and other artists from different genres and different eras which they somehow feel are inferior. Fuck all that. I have no interest whatsoever in ever participating in that silly little game. The only thing I care about is whether or not the music is good or bad. And Lady Gaga, without a doubt, is pretty freaking awesome. If anyone thinks otherwise, well I'm sorry, but they just have to keep listening until their brain is able to comprehend what their ears are hearing.

Why? What's the point in hating any entertainer? We live in an era with a multitude of options when it comes to choosing the media we consume so don't even think about trying to use the tired ass claim of 'overexposure'. Overexposure to any entertainer is nearly impossible for anyone who lives in a country that does not have a state-controlled media unless, of course, that person is a helpless retard when it comes to controlling their own environment. If you feel that any entertainer is being shoved down your throat, neither the entertainer nor the medium is the one at fault. You are.

Very disappointing.

I forget what your original post was about but I can say that there are no fake Lady Gagas out there running around fooling anyone. It was certainly her who played seven straight nights to close out Roseland last year. Shame it had to go but at least they closed out the era with style.



As far as Sia, I'm not sure what her deal is. She did something similar on Ellen. Performed while looking into a corner with her back to the audience. She must have some type of phobia or something. I know Jim Morrison couldn't face the crowd when he first started but eventually grew out of it to the point where he felt so comfortable he could just whip out his schlong. We'll see what happens with Sia. I actually think she's in her 40s so maybe that's just how she is and will always be.
