Hi guys, I just wanted to update everyone that Video Secrets went the extra mile and Overnighted the check (which I got today!!!) for Saturday delivery. It is official now, I've been paid in full up to date and my account has been fully reinstated with my login info reactivated so everything is completely resolved. I just wanted to thank everyone again and remind everyone that Video Secrets really came through and for everyone to please keep supporting them for being a stand up company! Thanks again guys!

Josh, that is great news! VS has always been straight up with us and one of our best affiliates. You obviously deserved the money and I personally appreciate your support of them. Everyone makes mistakes and errors in judgement. The true mark of one's character is how you deal with your mistakes. We all wish this solution could have happened sooner, but the end result is very positive and something to continue to build on. Thx. Jerry

I would say many have restored there links, in favor of VS. This goes with good reason. VS does very very well for many webmasters, thats been a known fact for a very long time. They are excellent in members sections and free sites alike, have some very good selling partners in content and actively work with online models and pornstars for the best shows.

Okay... Idon't think that chart really tells us anything. Let's see a four month data chart. Look at the middle of May... the same thing happened. That "drop" could be anything. Besides, is that domain even where people send their traffic?

Umm OK. Im happy you received the money that was owed to you but c'mon. I'm sure part of the agreement (aka begging for the money that was owed) was to come back on the boards and spread the VS love but laying it on a bit thick arent we?

It's like a thief steals your car and then after taking it for a joyride and leaving you a voice mail telling you to fuck off, the police catch him and he then decides to tell the cops where the car is so you can pick it up, so he can then get a lighter sentence. Then you come on telling everyone what a stand up guy the thief is.

And for those in the various threads that said there are two sides to every story: There isnt when both sides agree what the story is. The affiliate said he wasnt paid and they termed his account because he wasnt actively sending traffic. VS said the affiliate has stopped being paid and they have termed his account because he wasnt sending traffic ("money for nothing").

Its obvious what happened. VS had a different definition of what Lifetime revshare meant compared to affiliates. They had the policy that lifetime revshare ended when the affiliate stopped sending traffic. They continued to promote lifetime revshare payouts because they assumed it wouldnt be an issue. And whenever it became an issue it was probably for very small amounts so not worth dealing with. Then this affiliate and his whale stopped sending traffic. They then excerise their TOS clause saying they can term the account assuming they're in the right and nothing the affiliate can do. The affiliate instead causes a big stink on the boards and the employee they trot out to discredit him comes off looking like a complete jackass. They then take the position that the less said the better and like all things (AFF) this will just die down eventually. Instead a few other keyboard warrior affiliates take up the cause and keep the threads bumped so everyone and their brother knows about it. VS is a sponsor of GFY (and a sponsor of the GFY parent company produced webmaster access shows) and then they start getting pissed they are paying big money to GFY to have their company slammed. They have the thread killed which they think will eventually make everything go away. It doesnt as more threads start appearing and then more bannings. (one bad mistake after another). Now affiliates are starting to get pissed with both VS and GFY. VS realizes (finally, but most likely with a little help from some other companies affected) that they need to do some damage control as this isnt going away and they are sponsoring 2 upcoming webmaster shows. They then reverse course and start the dog and pony show of paying this affiliate and "changing" their terms. The odds of a new whale still spending money after an affiliate stops sending traffic now greatly decreased. Then they trot the affiliate in question out who , after being unbanned of course and saying he would never support a board that supports theivery, makes "great company" and "stand up guys" approved comments and the rest of the before aghast affiliate community heaps praise. Then in a month its drinks on VS at the show.

I think I about covered it.

But all in all excellent theater for us lurkers. Bravo Bravo.

PS: In case i make it to one of the VS parties and find myself in need of a beverage, those Video Secret guys are all top notch in my book. Way to make the correct decision and do whats right!!

Anyways it was what was Owed Chrome and the truth is, this whole thing could have turned out disasterous for everyone.

Exhibit A: Affiliates would ultimatly suffer not knowing whether or not VS would continue to pay them in the future while ultimatly deciding to cut a very important part of thier sites features. It can not be disputed VS has seriously excellent video entertainment features most if not all other video companies lack. VS is not just involved with Cam girls, VS gets known pornstar's to make appearences and mainain and excellent worth while source for surfers to come back to when they are a subscriber. Its a fact not many other Live Cam companies would be able to fill this void. To many surfers VS is essential to a members site experience and essential to come back customers for websites.

Exhibit B: Chrome would be out alot of money. 10K Plus what ever comes to him down the line is certainly going to be substantial and it not arriving would hurt anyones bottom line.

Exibit C: VS would end up losing alot of money in the long run.

So the outcome here can not be refuted, painting Chrome as a kiss ass now is blatantly immature, we all helped him, he got what he wanted the webmasters got what they wanted. This is a win win for everyone involved.

It would not have turned out that way at all if everyone did not put in there best effort to have VS see the light. Rumor I heard is many of VS content partners were concerned as well, along with a large constituancy of core program operators.

VS saw the light, they fixed it, corrected it and even got Chrome his check in less than 24 hours after resolving the issue. Thats pretty fucking classy if ya ask me.

When that didn't work in the best interest of VS they paid chrome. Yet they still maintain the position of being correct in the first place.

If you were in our position would you reactivate your links after seeing what another webmaster went through just to get paid what they were owed?

Webmasters were defending you second and defending themselves first. If it was your fault you didn't get paid you would of never got paid. Webmasters didn't see it that way and replaced "you" with "themselves".

Webmasters risked being banned or were banned for something they believed in and in the process you got paid.. like you should have in the first place.

Thats how you got your money.

While VS doesn't deserve to go the way of PIBcash this issue can't be swept under the rug by having a friend delete a thread or paying a webmaster the money that they are owed in the first place.

VS did the right thing here.. it will take them awhile to recover from their under appreciation of affiliates. In the process hopefully they will learn a lesson and develope a better appreciation of their affiliates.

Affiliates are not expandable no matter how small or no matter how they lucked out by sending the big click. If that ever becomes a reality for the affiliate webmaster the bar set to determind small/big, weak/strong would gradually raise and more webmasters would risk losing their cut to programs eyeballing their money. That is what webmasters fought to prevent here.

Every program should realize this.. thankfully most do.

I'm glad you got paid. Even though I don't even know you it was worth it to get banned here to stand up for you. This is Gerco btw. I was good to see the industry pull together enough for the correct solution in this matter. How the situation was handled was asinine on many fronts but at least it came to the desired outcome and showed that once in a while the little guys can fight back and win.

Who knows if gfy will unban my Gerco account or not, it really does not matter that much to me. Funny how after all these years, (I believe I switch from this account to Gerco in 2005) they pull my plug. At least Gerco went out on something that actually help make a difference to someone.
