For that amount of cash, you can get a nice looking shell of a car with the fancy hood ornament or have the Benz logo on the trunk .. if that's all you're looking for but I gotta tell you, I'd go with something else and get the bells and whistles inside the car.

I hear what you're saying and yeah, you're right. Having a Sonata won't make people turn their heads when you drive past them - but then again, I'm ugly and haven't ever turned anyone's head - though some do gawk and put money in my cup!
I'll take the bells and whistles inside the car silently knowing it has more horsepower than the Series 3, has a 10 year warrenty and is built in ALABAMA!

BTW, BMW Z4 is an American car (made in South Carolina).
I own a C Class, they start around 35k (the "starting at 31k" is just a teaser, you get a stick at that price). The 3l engine is more than enough for that little thing, I would never get an AMG in the USA because they start at around 54 k and you can get an E-class for 10 grand less than that. Th 20 grand more in the AMG is basically just for the 6.2l engine, some gimmicks, and a harder suspension.
If you want a powerful car like the C AMG for around 40 grand, do what the other guy up there said and get the Corvette. This car is really a sweetheart and not bad on gas. I've sen them for under 40, and the next comparable thing is either a 500 SL or a 911, at almost 3 times that price.Jenny Seemore

All these craiglist things arent REAL AMG versions! They just have the package. That means they have the look, but dont have them AMG interiour and not the AMG engine.
Id suggest you go with a CLK 500. I had the CLK 320 about a year ago and i loved it. But its definatly a ladies / family type of ride.Read TOS for signature rulesComment

You drive an E34 525i...Stay with BMW and buy one of the best cars they ever made, the E24 M6. It's a true classic and it's value will only increase if you don't drive it much and take care of it. On the other hand it's not really a ladies car, it's a true classic, so it might not be for you.
