I guess that rules out a sex change, lol. I always love getting regional pricing info. It fascinates me. Your house would cost less here. Depending on location I can't really say how much less. If it were a terrible location maybe even half of that. If it were a good location maybe only a little less. But the utilities would cost way more here. For a modern house (I don't mean an old farm house with no insulation) here that is just about 4000 sqft it costs $500 a month for air and heat if you average it out over a year. I guess yours would be $750 here.

Thanks hun, I have worked my ass off and went thru alot of BS the last 4 years to get where I'm comfortable with eveything in my life And I have a TON of great people in this bizz to thank for it all ... What comes around goes around and in the end the ones that work had will be here to stay ... I'm at the point of doing the interior of my place and need some ideas. I'm tired of it being all one color.
Nice thing with this industry... first major purchase I made was cars... then house.. first the accountant said "you need the tax write-off of the interest so don't pay it off too soon", then it was "it's not making enough of a difference to worry about so pay it off when you want". Bought it in '97, paid it off in 2001 and it's worth about 2.5 times what I paid for it...... if I ever decide to sell it.

I will tell you what after starting this project I will hire painters next time .. between my cats stepping in the paint me dripping paint and taping crap off, I wish I never started this lol .. I'm using a rust color for the office. This is only one coat so far so it looks rough ...

Do what I did (I'm still the talk of the local Ace store): Paint almost each wall a different wild color. Granted, most of my walls and my ceilings wood so that offsets a lot of the craziness but I ended up with:
Lime green in my loft/above my living area
Lime green in the basement bathroom
Robin's egg blue in the guest bed and bath (was being nice to guest)
Lemon yellow in the living area and kitchen
Purple in my bedroom
Pink in my bathroom
and I was boring and did the basement grey.
Thank goodness I have a small house or I'd be looking at the big box of Crayolas for ideas. It's an open floorplan so you can pretty much see every room but the basement from every other room so it is an explosion on the eyes.
My painter was shaking his head wondering WTF I was thinking but now, over a year later, he said he still talks to others about how much he likes it. He calls it the "Happy Color House"
With all the bright colored folk art I have, I call it the house decorated by someone with the mind of a 12 year old
My painter also explained to me that I'd never get a man to move in here with the MB painted pink, lol.Comment
