    Webmasters Living In Thailand - How do you run your business?

    I'm thinking of moving to Bangkok and I already have several people offering me apartments. My question is seeing that porn is illegal in Thailand and many ISP's are blocked how do you keep your biz moving.

    I was talking to some Thai peeps on a message board and one person suggested that I use offshore hosting and no .com sites but I'm not sure if they really knew what they were talking about.

      You could use a vpn and keep your business to yourself. I know that's what some people living over there do.

          get web hosting in USA/EU for your sites.

          use a vpn account to encrypt all of your web traffic out of the country. An example of this is to use steganos.com services as their servers are located in Germany. This will bypass all filtering Thailand attempts to implement and will ensure you are not detected when dealing with porn.

          You -> encrypted traffic -> Thailand ISP filters -> Steganos servers (Germany) -> Destination address and it works the same way coming back to you.

          What is the rent and living expenses like there?

              Cool. I might have to try this at home to make sure I know what I'm doing first.


              So far the best deal I have is a guy offering me a studio at $205 a month if I sign a 12 month lease. The place has two pools and a gym with free Internet but I think it's dialup or at least something slower than what I have. He mentioned that I could get an upgrade for my Internet but there would be a charge. This is on the beach in Pattaya

                                                                                      205$ a month even in Pattaya sounds like a shithole, have you seen the pictures of that place? Free internet wont work, and it is not sure if you can make phone line and DSL in the building. Its many questions in your story, I live in that area, hit me up on icq if you need a help/advise.

If its illegal, and they go as far as to filter it, why would you put yourself in that. To save a few bucks? If thats the only reason, find another location. Plenty of them.

                                                                                                                                                                          Results of a nationally representative study show that genital herpes infection is common in the United States. Nationwide, at least 45 million people ages 12 and older, or one out of five adolescents and adults, have had genital HSV infection. Over the past decade, the percent of Americans with genital herpes infection in the U.S. has decreased.

                                                                                                                                                                          Genital HSV-2 infection is more common in women (approximately one out of four women) than in men (almost one out of eight). This may be due to male-to-female transmission being more likely than female-to-male transmission.
