The price recently went up. It now costs 7 to 10 dollars a month. Before it was 4 to 6 dollars.
Say you have 100 domains to renew each year and you join this club for $84 per year.
8.29 * 100 = $829 + $84 = 913 / 100 = $9.13 per domain

This is the LAST time I'm paying $14.99 per domain with Godaddy. I'm officially moving to another registrar with all future domains.
I spent about an hour searching for renewal codes and went through all of them. Final result: $2.57 discount on $113 in renewals. Done with that. Bye bye GoDuddy
NOTE: I'm quite aware that prices with all registrars will go up in the future and $14.99 will sound like nothing at that point. However, at this point, their are registrars charging much less

They may lose smaller domainer customers where the Discount Club isn't worth it for them but larger domainers will stick as their Discount Club is worth it then. Don't think anyone will get anywhere near them in domain count as they basically trump everyone and not by a slim margin as they unlike others spend quite a bit on advertising and business people don't give a rats ass if it costs $8 or $15. Those are the same people I sell my $8 expired domain pick ups to for x,xxx-xx,xxx. GoDaddy has advertised enough to become the mainstream easy solution and their upsell machine doesn't hurt them as well.

they are so big, it doesn't matter. they just keep growing and growing. They gained almost 100k domains November 2014 (which is the latest info released).
