                                                                                                                    Hi Claire, I have a question for you. Why did you post all of the pictures on GFY? It seems like a bad business decision to me.

                                                                                                                    By displaying all of the pictures on GFY, you gave more traffic and more hits to GFY, which of course supports THEIR advertisers.

                                                                                                                    None of the pictures are watermarked, and even worse, all of the pictures are hosted off of your server, at kingscastleuk.com. With all of the traffic that GFY gets, you may get hit with big bandwidth charge this month from your ISP. Many of the pictures are over 130k in size also which will push your bandwidth bill up even higher.

                                                                                                                    So in other words, GFY will make the money from these pictures, not you. Even worse, you will have to pay extra just because of that.

                                                                                                                    Here's what you should do next time:

                                                                                                                    First, put all of the pictures on YOUR site. LINK to the page from GFY or other boards, perhaps include a couple of teasers, but thats it. A good thumbnail program like Jalbum will make a very nice set of web pages for you including thumbnails. It's very easy to use. It creates thumbails and will compress the image sizes to something reasonable (Your 130k pictures will cost you only about 23k in bandwidth and look just as good). It will even watermark your pictures automatically for you (yourwebsite.com) or include an advertisers logo.

                                                                                                                    Once you have created the pages, Put them online and sell banner advertising everywhere you can on those pages (just like Fubar, GFY, and others do).

                                                                                                                    This way, when you sell advertising to someone and wear their t-shirts, you can charge a little extra for the banner space that displays each picture, or, you can sell the banner space to someone completely different and earn additional revenue. And even if you don't sell the banner space, you can always use Affiliate links for the banners and earn commissions this way.

                                                                                                                    Just an idea...!
