A time ago I found a job as banner designer at Bonga Cash. We had agreement on a starting pay that should be increased after 4 months of work.
I had to create banners and ads mostly contaiing shemale and gay models. The matter of work:
- to be creative and to produce 1 concept per day.
Every concept had to be transfered into 11 different/standard banner sizes.
Every of those had to be translated into 34 languages - translations came with files.
According to BongaCash management every concept is considered as 1 banner.
I was happy at start - finally I found a job! You remember my previous thread - where I was looking for a job, how talented I am, and what bad motherfucker with skills I am. Even Sid said a good word / which is kinda cool/.
Well - the problems came for me since 2014. When I lost my previous job - I found myself with many debts, bank loans, bills and many stuff to pay. Along with these 0 were the payments to my accountant , who became let's say: very unpleasant person to talk with.
The mails, notifications, phonecalls - pay this, pay that, pay or...else - that kind of shit started to affect the bad way - my work and performance. Started to make a lot of mistakes - like one banner to be turned back to fix a small thing 2 or 3 times, a small line to appear on some of the animated frames etc.
Guys - I was not able to provide the speed, or to be that creative, just like the in-house designers of Bonga /as I've been told/. My supervisor- a very helpful and polite person - was very unhappy with that. One day I asked him if we should proceed on working like that, and the reponse was that they are looking for another designer to come on my place, but still we are working. The next day I decided to walk away on my own and thus to leave the position to someone who is in a better condition. I announced this to him but I also told him that I am going to finish what I have on my plate, and when the last batch was finished - I asked for the payment. In the mean time I explained about my problems and that with the money I should get from them I will be able to solve some of the problems that knock on my head - and even if they still have a room for me I could proceed work with them again - if they still want me.
I was working around a month for them, creating and providing just 4 concepts for them. Feel free to calculate the number of files:
4 concepts x 11 sizes = 44 banners x 34 languages - that makes around .... Fuck maths! Let's do meth instead ! Make a calculation, GFY !
I sent my details and started to wait. Then I started to wait for more. Then I was told that for just 4 banners I have to make a discount and I was told that $600 is the fair price for the job I made. I agreed with this, I was in a hurry.
Just to mention that I sent my details twice. And one invoice in addition/ for a third time/. Still nothing. Another month just passed.
I was told that Bonga {according to the manager I was working with} is company with good reputation.
Guys from Bonga - Please pay what you owe me. $600 is the thing which is fair according to you and you are not paying this either.
I was expecting the things to be solved quiet and fast, with not much noise or dramas / I tried outside of gfy - using skype and sending mails to the manager who hired me at first.
From skype I was getting responses like:
give me time to check with the accountant, give me your details once again, sorry - i Was outside , sorry for not getting back to you/ - And this for over
2 months. I'm still not able to collect the "fair sum" of $600.
From e-mails - I get nothing.
What I want is just those $600 - nothing more or less.
Even with problems I did job and agreed on the sum you consider as fair.
P.S. Now let me proceed with the story of my life after. 2014 was the year with the worst things that could happen.
After I left Bonga - my mom and dad came and gave me some cash - so I can pay some of the debts I had. They said I don't have to bring back those to them! Just to say those people are pensioners and this made me sink down the ground. I'm 38 yo - completely broke with family and kids waiting for me....
In addition Some friends from gfy - came just like out of nowhere - and one said that he owed me money from previous project - a logo I did for him.
Guys... that was the thing that made me cry like a little girl !
Then one of you - came and offered me small job for small time - I agreed, but the same guy introduced me to his friend who was in a need of designer.
Now I work with those guys. I started to draw again. So thank you GFY and Friends !!!! God bless you all!
Do I need those $600 ? More or less... Yeah - I was working for those. I won't get richer with them, but I will probably buy a bigger tablet. Who knows - if they pay me.
If I get paid I will announce that here and will make my own art challenge / will do at least 3 drawings per day for 10 days/ something dirty involving sex I suppose.
