WHOOOOO HOOOOO! Part of me is happy that the 2008 Cybernet Expo has come and gone and part of me misses it already. The relief of getting an entire trade show off your plate is pretty amazing to say the least and judging by all of the positive feedback we?ve received on and off the boards, I would have to unabashedly say that the show proved to be a big success. Hell, at the very least someone is having fun in practically every picture I?ve seen so that should account for something.
I?m not big on shout outs cuz god knows it?s hard to find the time for them and it?s taken me two friggen days on and off revisiting this, and then there is always the possibility of leaving someone out accidentally so please spank me if you feel slighted in any way shape or form. With the industry suffering a bit here and there and proving that we might not actually be recession-proof after all, I think it?s high time a whole lotta love went out. This was a feel good show. The speakers: One of my favorite jobs of Cybernet Expo is pulling together a team of 50+ people from the industry to speak on over a dozen panels and workshops. It?s like putting together a big puzzle. I think our educational program delivered the goods big time as always and I owe a debt of gratitude to all of the professionals who took the time out to share their knowledge to what was more often than not, a packed conference room.
And of course, the hotel. Such a damn pleasure working with the Golden Gateway. Pleasant, professional, lenient, responsible, attentive? on it goes. Makes a WORLD of difference when a place that can make or break you has your best interests in mind and does everything they can to accommodate. Imagine that! And yes we will work on the bar and room service hours for next year.
