Are tags good for Wordpress blogs?

I would add tags but ensure you have the tag description displayed on the page that is unique and relevant to the content.

Re: Yoast Wordpress SEO - Try using a slightly different meta title template for tags and categories, it may help you improve your CTR by comparing analytics for the different taxonomies.

Yes, because it would increase number of pages opened as well as bounce rate in a way. That would be good for ranking.

There was a thread the other day about bounce rates. In there, I mentioned some changes I made to a site that drastically decreased the bounce rate. I forgot to mention that I deleted all tags with the site update. My rankings were not effected at all.

Initially I decided to remove them all so I could re-tag every post with more relevant tags.

The site was a bit cluttered and after I removed the tags and tag cloud, I thought it looked better so I decided to keep it that way. I also removed the "similar posts" type plugin that displayed other links at the bottom of each post. The site now has a cleaner look and feel and coincidentally functions better.

I wasn't sure how it might effect things but decided to try it anyway.

Custom taxonomies are good, example in tube sites, Pornstar taxonomy.

Yepp. I rank pretty good for some tags. Be sure to add a proper meta description for each tag. Worth the extra work for sure!

Another question (Sorry Johnny, not trying to steal your thread)

Should your tags all be different than the categories? For instance you have a cuckold category is it bad to have a cuckold tag and do they pretty much cancel each other out?

Ideally I think it would go cuckold category and maybe creampie, bbc, cheating wife, etc as tags? Sound about right?

I think the OP needs to go back to Webmaster 101. Some of the questions asked, while valid, are covered so many times by so many people it seem that he lacks the ability to do some self education.
