The reason I'm calling it a "dumbass salute" is because the President is ranked higher than that marine. So he isn't supposed to salute back.
You don't salute an enlisted man OR an officer who is lower in rank than you.
The only time an officer in the military or any President before Reagan EVER saluted a military person was when presenting them with the Medal Of Honor.
That's my point. This is just dumbass shit that was made up by Pres. Reagan, is incorrect, and now perpetuated by the media.
