Assuming not a voice over he is very likely a contractor. Every since Bush opened the market for Military contract "shooters" in Iraq the business has boomed. Blackwater whom changed their name two times since then has "private army" of soldiers doing contract work all over the world. I'm sure there are more as well.

To be fair in Afghanistan during the early parts of the war, CIA & SOCOM often used AR-15's which were built to use AK-47 mags and sometimes the soldiers even used AK-47's.
The reason was because these guys were deep behind enemy lines and couldn't depend on resupply. They had to be able to use ammo they found on the battleground which was usually AK47s.
Assuming US had troops in Ukraine or even contractors they would do the same. They would use a gun that fired rounds which were easily acquired. It's one thing if it's a bin Laden style raid where they are in and out, but if they spend long amounts of time behind enemy lines they have to be self supportive.In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment
