        People/companies get nominated by themselves or others, then there are 3 or 4 rounds of voting, open to all GFY account holders.

        Unless I'm mistaken that's how it works.

            thanks a lot for that lol. That doesn't give any explanation to what I asked.

            I'm asking WHY? Why does someone deserve the award? What did they do to deserve it? Saying "they or someone else nominated them(selves)...doesn't give a reason as to why they should actually get it.

            There's never any mention of what they actually did to get nominated. I would just like to hear what someone did in 2014, that they should even be considered -- other than they're a popular member on the board...and no one knows anything else.

                                    I got nominated because I along with many others wrote an educational series article in 2014 and then people voted for the one they thought should win.

                                    Crak came out with their geomatic tool, that is what they did in 2014. I don't recall the others in the category and what they won.

                                    There are 2 reasons why for you.
