he registered the domain name to poke fun at steve by pointing it to the wiki on dinasaurs.
and steves response was
if he wanted to be a real jack ass about he could easily skirt the "lightspeed" trademark
he could fund an enterprise tube script, that say for example leveraged the bit torrent streaming protocol that significantly improves speed and allows you to stream hd quality movies at a fraction of the cost.
he could link to all the adult and main stream tube sites and he still would be outside the scope of "lightspeed" trademark.
he was making a joke, if he wanted to screw steve he easily could have.

gideongallery, I have no idea who you are and I don't want to sound disrespectful to you...but I am aware that it was linked to the definition of dinosaur. That wasn't the point. You made a derogatory remark to Steve about trying to "own" the word lightspeed.
I merely pointed out to you, that if Steve has that trademarked for his sites...then he DOES own it in the world of pornography.
And he is well within his rights to ask another webmaster who makes his living through the world of porn WHY he would register a domain.
Now if DH were the owner of an ice cream company, or a car manufacturer...then Steve probably wouldn't ask that question. But since he is who he is...Steve has every right to demand that domain immediately. I'm not trying to argue the point with you. And no, DH can't "skirt" the trademark laws. DH is the owner of an adult related business. Steve has every right to that domain.
The easiest and correct thing to do is to hand it over. Which I'm sure DH will do anyway. The point Steve was making was "why" he registered it. And yes, apparently it was to try and make a joke and sooth things over.

steve has a habit of overstating the value of his trademark and that before you take into account mistakes he has made that have created giant loopholes that would prevent him from ever winning one of his cases.
i called steve on his BS ever time does this.
it amazing that he doesn't just stop over inflating the value of his trademark.

look having a trademark that is unenforceable is equal to having no trademark at all.
Give you an example steve hired "Jana Mrazkova" to play "britney lightspeed"
Jana Mrazkova has signed multiple contracts that grant you the right to use her nameand likness including all stage names "past present and future"
all somone who wants to abuse steve's "britney lightspeed" trademark is buy on of these sets.
the fact is most of his "lightspeed" girls are in the exact same boat.

I had no problem transferring a domain with lightspeed in it over to steve. Hell they even left it up after they hosted it, and I still made sales off of it. It's his deal, I don't have a problem with that. He is looking out for his trademark that he has built up in the porn world.Comment

OK, let me tell you what I know...it doesn't matter WHAT anybody does with a domain that contains a trademarked name. Hell, you can take it and NOT even have it online at all. It doesn't matter one bit. If Steve decides he wants that domain and when he tries to get it discovers that another person has it...then he will get it. I know you want to argue for arguments sake. But I have seen it done time and time again.
It doesn't make one iota of difference what a person puts on a domain that is trademarked. When the rightful owner of that trademark petitions for it...it WILL be taken from the squatter and given to the trademark holder.
Again, I don't know you...as far as I can tell from your profile, you don't own anything. But usually a simple email suffices to get a squatter to voluntarily hand over a domain. But if it comes right down to it...a lawyer writing the internet God's will result in the domain being transferred to the rightful owner.
That is what I'm trying to point out to you. It doesn't really matter what you try to do or how slick you try to be. Once the domain has been given to the trademark owner...well, game over. Hopefully that clears up my point. Everything else is irrelevant. So "no", nobody could "screw" Steve with that domain name. Not for long anyway.-Robbie

steve licienced his trademark for "britney lightspeed" to every one who buys one of these previous set when he chose to hire a model bound by "name and likeness" contract that extends to his creation of a stage name.
kinzie kenner would have taken kinziekenner.com away from steve and friends
the same "loophole" that allowed steve & friends to hold on to kinziekenner.com for all those years allows anyone who wants to screw steve over to do so as long and as often as they want.
while steve said it was "business" and claimed he had a right to do it the fact is whenever the same legal rights are used against him he reclasifies it as "loophole".

I don't consider it a loophole either, those were steve's words. It just so happens that i have a similar right to own raimimiller.com.
the fact that you owned it, doesn't change the fact that steve promised that "the only official site for kinizie kenner would exist on kiniziekenner.com" when he was trying to convince me i should give him the domain for free.
steve has a habit of calling it a "loophole" but the simple fact is, tucker, you were the "and friends" i was talking about.

steve i have repeatedly told you and everyone who will listen what you need to do to evolve in this new enviroment (go to live, product placement)
the days to shoot a video scene for 2k and making 100k from it are long gone.
yet you keep fighting the market, the problem is you are trying to convince other people to join your losing battle, and openly attacking people who are choosing to evolve with the new marketplace.
Tube sites who comply with DMCA take down request are no more theives then you are living off the avails of prostitiution with your empire.
When they jump thru the legal hoops of the DMCA safe harbour provision, they legitimize what would other wise be an illegal act, just like when you film the sex scene you legitimize what would normally be the illegal act of prostitution.
any porn company that thinks they are going to win such a case is going to be facing an uphill battle because these sites can clearly prove that you understand the concept of how the rule of law turns what is normally an illegal act into a legitimate business.
Yet you keep spouting off thinking you are right, when quite clearly you are not.
The devils advocate provides a valuable service to the community because it either clearly identifies the losing case, or it makes you re-evaluate your position improving it so that it is truly effective.
