Little cock roaches at dreamhost.

I know, chap, oversold blah blah…
So I used them for static galleries and all worked fine until few of them got listed in top spots on big TGPs. So they killed my domains because it was effecting other customers. Basically tech support guy told me to fuck off, and that 6000 gig a month plan really doesn’t have capability to support 200gig daily traffic. End of story. Moving on. I’ll just do chargeback for 4 month that I used them..

they were actually ok with me until now. They just cut me off. I replied to their ticket and still no answer of why they bother to sell me 6000 gig plan if they couldn’t handle 100 gig a day. Not that big of a deal bt excuse is definitely lame.

Naturally, there is always someone complaining that some services are too expensive ... so they go cheap.

That is why in my sig, at the bottom, you have one of those oversellers ... If some of you are to be fucked, I might as well get on the bandwagon and make a fee bucks ( 65.00 referral doing nothing ... ). That is more then I do on my basic plan over a year....

Not really if you think of it. I takes 5 minutes to turn it in and they can’t brush it off with “read the terms”.. Legal procedures take a lot of resources and time. I don’t mean time to send out the letter but the whole process. Its like filibuster - you bullshit just to prove the point and waste their time. Once you file complaint they cant go in and say “look, read our terms”.. they just can’t.. That’s why people file cases about hot coffee being spilled on their crotch despite the fact it clearly says “hot coffee” on it. I know I won’t do it, I still have some non-adult project there that generate about 1.2 unique views a day. I just hope none of you motherfuckers end up having your sites hosted o same 486 server I’m on.

Hosting is all about overselling, every host oversells to some extent. But you are limited to resources you can use. A host offering 10gigs a month on $10 will also terminate you for using too much resources, so did DreamHost.

I am not advocating them, just telling how shared hosting works.

it mainly comes down to CPU usage BUT these places work great for backup services. Simply FTP your shit over to them for use as backups... some file hosting with them works great too.

I might just signup for lunar to dump some massive DB's I have.
