I can't see it any more but that bastard thing is still up there 'cause I can hear it. It has red lights and flashing white lights. Pretty sure it is a police helicopter, what else could be up there at this time, or for so long? Maybe I just pushed the limits too far and made one site too many.

I wonder how long it'll be before they run out of fuel.

This happened to me a few weeks ago (also UK). I had a few friends over and we went out to investigate cos i live in a very quite village. As we were walking down the street a couple of drunks past us and we thought nothing of it till a bit further down the street and we see 3 cop cars. Turns out these guys had gone through the local villages and robbed up 4 shops each time stealing whiskey cash and fags they were also on their way to another. The helicopter had been looking for them, they cought them just down the road from my house.
