Going to CanCun in a few weeks. any tips?

Have my honey moon there that is way over due, and all we could think of last minute was CanCun.

are there any casinos there?

whats good to do there? we are staying at the moon park golf resort, or whatever it is called. I plan to hit the beach, do some shopping and allot of the touristy things. but aside from that, what do you suggest?

i went to cancun once when i was like 19. all i can say is if you're into partying its the place to be. snorkeling is fun, the beaches are fun, girls are everywhere, and theres plenty to drink. go see chichen itza thats fun too.

There is little to do in PLaya Del Carmen. But there us the Tulum Ruins, Xcaret and Xhelha Not sure if I spelled those right.

Let me know the dates, and the wife and I will meet you for coffee, and point you in the right direction.

We live in Cancun 5 min outside the hotel zone.

Go to Cocobongos or the City. great night clubs that are like a show. Just drink before you go in as even though it is included you won't have time to get a beer.

Xelha and Chichen Izta during the day. Well worth seeing.

Very cool to see your thread. I will be honeymooning there with my new bride around the same time. We are staying at the Moon Palace resort and will be there from june 30-july 6. There are some good ideas on things to do there in this thread. The ruins sound good as well as the snorkeling and diving.... and the drinking is definitely on the "to do" list.

Its always fun to meet others in our industry, Maybe the wife and I can join you and pornguy for that coffee or even better a margarita. Thanks to the other folks in the thread for the tips.

If you go out to any of the ruins, you can rent a little car and drive and you won't be stuck on the damn bus all day with everyone else and the tour guide schedule. And if you don't dive, you can do the jungle tour thing on a jet ski that's pretty good.

If you do the booze cruise out to Isla Mujeres, they used to have a casino deal there, but I think it was fake money or money you trade in. Or maybe not. Maybe someone who lives there will know. They also did a big thing for honeymooners and made them come up on stage and do some sort of game that was funny. And if they still have the Subway at the Kukulkan, for the love of god, do not eat there.

I would lay on the beach or by the pool and let some little Mexican guy bring you fruity drinks all day. That's my favorite part.

To the people saying that they live in Cancun: is it true that a lot of the beach is gone, to the point that a lot of Hotels have no beach at all?

I've been to Cancun 3 times already, and was planning a fourth, but I keep reading these bad reviews everywhere complaining about the "beach situation"..

Would love to hear your input on the topic!

I'm just a newbie.
