I still think the banning of a lot of people who actually work in the industry hurt the board a lot. Sure some people didn't like will76, but he was actually someone who worked in the industry and knew stuff. He's just one example though. A lot of good people have been banned for simply pointing out something shady that a board advertiser or bro is doing. You keep banning all the people who work in the industry and you end up with less business threads and less visitors.Comment

The broken search is the single largest issue for me at GFY.
So nowadays my GFY experience is a quick look over the front page drama and then moving along to a board where I can actually find out something I need.

Could the drop in numbers be more of a reflection of the state of the industry as a whole, rather than just a problem related to the management style of gfy admin ?
eg. back in the day, a large proportion of posters were usa-based gallery submitters or small mgp owners ... most of which have since died off.

if it were true that the good people are left and idiots had moved on, things would be wonderful, but the reality is that many morons are still left behind. I've seen 2 or 3 cycles come and go since I first started surfing board (a year or more before I reg'd). Hopefully we'll see a new wave of good peeps back on otherwise this board will die quietly.
Give that Eric is pretty focused in other areas and most of the other peeps have moved on to new jobs as well-the old guard is fighting an uphill battle against a new enemy in illegal content theft (and consequently many leaving adult for good right now), that doesn't leave many left to post. Hence lower traffic.

I havent been on here long but I have made some money from this board and also talked to some great experienced webmasters. Being a noob I still learn a lot from GFY and some of the people who post here. Although I do remeber when the threads would move so fast you couldent keep up with them, so yeah maybe it has slowed a little but its still a valuble resource for us noobsComment

I use this board strictly for the entertainment but if I ever go to a show again it might come in handy to know some of the real webmasters. But I dont think there are many that are visable on this board.No doubt one may quote history to support any cause, as the devil quotes scripture.
