some of the disparities between nations really surprised me. ex: Bermuda and Trinidad have divorce rates in the 25-35% range, whereas in Jamaica it's 9% and the Bahamas is 5%. Same with the UK and Ireland, the UK divorce rate is three times higher than the rate for Ireland
I guess I'd attribute that disparity to a combo of economics and the god factor but still, I wasn't expecting such huge differences between nations in the same regions.
in some ways I look at higher divorce rates as a positive indicator, in that it means that people who want to split up are in an economic position to do so. It also means fewer miserable peeps stuck together in deference to social/religious stigma.
