    BJJ is what started the Ultimate Fighting Championship, or UFC. It was called Gracie Jiu Jitsu back then, but the trademark stopped anyone who wasn't a Gracie to use that term, hence Brazillian Jiu Jitsu.

    It's one of the 3 major styles MMA fighters train in, BJJ, Wrestling, Muay Thai/Boxing.

        Sorry, forgot to add, The Senator is a Purple in BJJ. Which is mid level. A blackbelt in BJJ takes about 10 years on average.

        The belts are : White, Blue, Purple, Brown, Black.

        Why a purple is regarded highly is out of a class of 100, 20 will move forward to Blue Belt, 5 will become purples, 1 will out of those 5 will make it to blackbelt.
