A thought on cops these days feeling scared and shooting people...

I haven't seen any cases where a female was shot because the police felt threatened.

It seems to me that many females are harder to arrest when they're all jacked up, they bite/spit/hit/yell obscenities, try to get away, etc etc.

The cops usually yell and laugh at them.

Same situation with a guy and it's guns out right away.

I look at it this way. Cops are there to keep the peace, and have guns to shoot to protect that peace. They used to have power and the upper hand in just about any circumstance.

But now, everyone has a gun. Even worse, lots and lots of people who have guns are untrained, off balance, depressed, angry, scared, on drugs, and ready to use that gun.

It makes me wonder if this doesn't scare the shit out of some cops...

no, everyone does not have a gun, learn to embrace facts.

in fact, gun ownership is declining

Survey data shows self-reported gun ownership peaked at 53 percent in 1973 before seeing a fairly steady decline to 32 percent in 2010, the most recent year available. He cautioned singling any one year out, saying the numbers are better judged in the context of a whole: the 1970s averaged about 50 percent, the 1980s averaged 48 percent, the 1990s at 43 percent and 35 percent in the 2000s
      .

the entire post smacks of elitism, classism and sexism.

The cop was trying to shoot out a tire. That woman was nuts and her son was pretty much attempting to attack the police.

When police shot and killed that other woman in DC, Miriam Carey, people asked why they didn't shoot out her tires instead.

I can tell you this...if that had been MY family, I would find those cops and beat the living hell out of them.

They had no need to open fire. It's just insanity that they even thought that was necessary.
They had all the woman's info from her tag. All they had to do was do a "slow speed" chase until she eventually stopped.

As for her son "attempting to attack the police"...what would you have done if that was your mother?
And those cops? They would have done the same exact thing to protect their mom too.

These policemen who did this are pieces of shit. Plain and simple. There was never any need for any of the disrespect, aggressiveness, and horrible attitude they had that led to all of this.
