I've had a brazilian area laser as well. It hurts like a mofo & gets worse as they turn up the laser!! Good news is they can give you a lidocaine cream to put on before hand that will numb it really well. I did my first 2 times w/o lidocaine & then with... totally different experience!!

Anna: the lady at the NeoSkin office did mention the lydocaine, but unfortunately they dont provide it, so you have to bring your own.

I had to have surgery 3 years ago and since I'm terrified of IVs, I put xylocaine on the IV area before they pricked me, and it still hurt a lot. Needless to say, I didn't think it would be any better this time, so I didn't even try.

But now that you mention it, I will definitely do it next time, thanks so much for the tip

It's sooooo worth the pain! I had mine done years ago and still LOVE IT!!! Make sure not to have any caffeine a couple hours before you go to your next appt. Trust me, it cuts the pain in half!!!

My wife got it done.... get the topical anesthetic... it's worth it she says.... then have a glass of something to calm your nerves... they turn up the power each visit.

when i was reading some reviews of it i saw that quite a few people would take some advil about an hour before hand.

Make sure that your hair is completely dark. If you pluck a hair and it's blonde on the root.. you're doing all of this for nothing. I spent about 1500... and was told at the end, "well it's probably not lasting because you're a blonde.."

The laser is attracted to the pigment.. so it doesnt go all the way to the root unless your pigment is all the way to the root..
